This update is from Donna's blog. So we have two reports on Blaze the one below from the Ohio Bird Sanctuary's Facebook page and from Donna:

Poor little Blaze. I was so hoping that she would be able to fly again and have a normal falcon life. I hope that she can be content with her circumstances and loved by somebody too.

Oh I was also hoping she would be free, but she is alive. We know she is in a great place to serve as an ambassador.

THEY CAN STILL EDUCATE THE PUBLIC. I'M FRIENDS WITH 7 OF THE BIRDS @ OUR ZOO!!! :teehee: CONGRATULATIONS BLAZE ... WHAT A LONG ROAD IT'S BEEN FOR YOU ... YOU MADE IT ... YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL HOME AND MISSION IN LIFE! MAKE DURAND AND SPARK PROUD!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! :flirty:

I feel bad for Blaze too! I was hoping she could be released. But she is in a good place.............

And like Mary Anne - I am glad also that she has a good disposition.

I guess a good word for how I feel is bittersweet.

Many thanks for the updates/links...

Gosh darn-the first flight doesn't always work out.
I am so glad Blaze has a forever home with shelter and food.

Thanks for posting the update on Blaze, Sally. I was also hoping she would be releasable, but it sounds that she (like Yellow Girl) will have a good home. It has to be easier on these young birds that haven't really known life in the wild to be in captivity. That's probably also why they show a good disposition towards captivity.

That's a good way of looking at their situations! Maybe they think right away that humans are their good friends! I am also glad that they have shelter and food.
