I think three eggs is o.k. for a new & young ? PALATINA. The first breeding of AURORA in 2000 resulted in three eggs with two fledlings, JETTA started in 2008 with three eggs and two fledglings. I think the females test in their first season wether the male is able to support his partner and the chicks during the breeding and the following time.
Big job for PERKEO! I am sure he will do with PALATINA what he has done so well in the years with JETTA upraising 17 falcons...

Here is the favourite perch of Heidelberg falcons: ruin of the elector-palatine`s castle -"Kufürsten von der Pfalz" (castle destroyed by French in 1693 - TODAY we are happy about that: tourists love it`s romantic atmosphere!)
For the falcons it is just a cozy cliff to overlook city and valley controlling all the birds passing by...

This is the view Heidelberg`s falcons have perching in the castle`s ruin: on the very left the steeple of Heiliggeistkirche with nest box inside. From the castle`s wall they can see into the nest box, so if the partner leaves the next second the other partner arrives to breed or guard the eggs or chicks...

We are leaving Heidelberg for our traditional Easter trip to Montferrato/Piemonte, Italy and Côte d`Azur, France, hoping for a warmer and sunnier Easter. I presume the three Heiliggeistkirche-chicks are going to hatch starting with tuesday, wednesday next week! So, please, keep guard, because I will not be able to feed informations or snapshots to our Website http://www.ag-wanderfalken.de or here, sorry! I`ll be back april, 27th. :egg19:
