just put up and someone was sitting outside. will get photo when I run tape off

wish I knew what their bands were form last year. there were reports of another female in area and thi s female seemed unsettled, but she is same as last 2 years as I can see her healed wounds on side of face. male looks like his talons a bit beat up

march5- both at box at different times this morning and now it is snowing.

this is the same pair as lat year , so far. fingers crossed. have grown fond of them

I was worried today as did not see our male till later in day. He had been bringing prey etc. the cam kept freezing . He was either in a scrap or prey on cere

cam kept freezing but I thought I saw a different peeking in while she was still on, adn he had just left . but cannot be certain. cam was weird this afternoon. but it could have still been part of the freezing

this is either prey or he has been in a scrap. we will see tomorrow or next time I see him. I like this male so would hate to lose him.

no doubt in my mind that there has been battles here. we have same male and female bu t you can see cere of male . He has been in a battle.

I put up cam on recorder as I noticed ti went from them there all the time, food gifts etc. to maybe female and not male . And sh e was not there often
but saturday, he was there . I tried to get band read but not clear enough but it looks same
yesterday, they were there quite a bit but skittish. always looking. but male did stay for quite a while at one point.
fingers crossed I see things back to normal

mayo. have only seen female again today. have had cam up all day and refreshed several times . A bit worried.

i knew it. this was just posted. I hop e they are not at it again. Orton may just be patrolling. I have seen this before, where they stay near enough but keep flying the perimeters to make sure all is well. My fingers are crossed . we saw this at Harrisburg a few times thi s year.


March 16 - Orton and an unidentified young male were engaged in a fierce territorial battle on March 14. The aerial battle lasted for about 1.5 hours. Orton was exhausted after the battle but it appears that he has won the territory. Orton and Hattie were both observed in the nest box on March 15.

mayo- female was here almost constant today. later evening, she went out and came back in with just a bi t of a call. I think sh e thought someone was coming in. later afternoon she was sitting and watching all around and went to front and looked down and out.

was just looking back.
they mentioned big fight on march14 but this had been on going. on march13 is when i mentioned I had no seen him an d then he came in later on with head wound . he seemed very agitated and so did she. They were always looking. he was absent march14and they reported battle march14 . march 15 he was back quite a bit and at times seemed relaxed and at times very watchful. i have posted pictures above

he was a no snow yesterday march16 and I have not seen hm today but have heard the faint sound of a falcon at times. so will reaming postive
she is sticking close. when not in box i see her shadow above. when in box she watches and picks pebbles. I cant help but feel for these beautiful birds

THANKYOU so much for keeping us updated, Bev! I hate territorial battles, too....

have not seen either today so far (12:49pm) but it was very foggy and it sounds very windy there. fingers crossed

still no sign of either at 5:15pm- I keep refreshing got make sure not frozen

hope they are not both defending. she was there all day yesterday.Hmmmm
