Ft Myers...sorry these are so big...

I had been checking the cam everyday, but never got to see the kids...so, I started to worry...mom always looked like she was yelling, and I never saw any food on the nest...so, I just staked it out..

Dad (yay) brought in a nice sized fish...but, mom was very hungry and ate some first...I didn't stick around to see how the feed went..but nice to finally see some food..

OSPREY CAM UPDATES April 21 dawn

Savannah GHO-ospreys - Victor and Victoria

Apr 28 Savannah update - the ospprey nixed the nest and they cant fix cams.

http://landingsbirdcam.com

April 3 osprey pair visited 3 times
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=095mjLqU ... youtu.be&a

Unbanded Victor appears like a young bird to me
This cam sometimes works, more times not
The osprey pair are still interested - but not committed
The owl family is in the area but not in this tree
Tree is dead and should really be cut down

April 27, 2015 Monday Shepnotes
Boulder ospreys 4 EGGS
Eggs laid April 19, 22, 24, 27 - eggspect hatches late May

3rd egg Apr 24 - Video
Glad Boulder caught up to us - after 4 days!
https://www.youtube.com/embed/mdVwTfP-7yE?rel=0

A Red-Winged Blackbird perchs on the plank sticking out across the nest.
He has been bugging the osprey - usally sits on the reeds - nest front-right

Red-Winged Blackbirds harrass osprey - so do eagles.
There are a lot of rwb where Boulder osprey nest - I see and hear them.
Red-winged Blackbirds nest in wooded areas along waterways.

April 30, 2015 Thursday Shepnotes
Trilly the rwblackbird showed up in the afternoon, squawkin
Kate seems very hot in the sun, she is panting

Boulder fairgrounds fledge history
2006 nest failure - likely due to heat
2007 A total of 3 young were flying by early July. In mid September, just before migrating only 2 young
were still observed with the adults.
2008 - 3 young fledged from this nest
2009 - 4 young fledged from this nest
2010 - 2 young fledged from this nest
2011 - 1 young fledged from this nest
2012 - 2 young fledged from this nest
2013 - 1 young fledged from this nest
2014 - 3 young fledged from this nest

I was told if all 4 of her eggs hatch, all 4 may not survive to fledge
