April 21. Change on the nest. It must be getting close to hatching. |

They were really early for Virginia. I think hatch is still a while, a few weeks. |

There may be a hatch. While both birds were feeding separately, I saw the female, on the right, leaning several times forward, as if she was giving food to a hatchling. Of course we cannot be sure before the heads are visible… |

May 6. Again, I think I saw feeding (the second picture). |

The male brings a snack. The female feeds their offspring. Finally, I was able to see a bobbing head. One only was visible, but I think there is another one too. |

Today I saw definitely 2 little heads during the feeding. Also, two little birdies (warblers?) were mating several times on a stick near the right corner of the nest (seen on the last 2 pictures). |

Great catch! I'll have to spread the word to CCB. I think the biologists might be banding some ospreys this year, maybe they will do this nest. |

For the first time I saw THREE little heads. They are clearly visible on this picture. |

They are growing fast. Parents leave them sometimes alone. |

One of the young ospreys fledged! And returned about 30 minutes later. Later, when 2 young were on the nest, a parent brought some food. The third one appeared quickly. This picture could be entitled “Confusion of wings”. |
