From John Bunker Sands Wetland Center facebook:

Me and the John Bunker Sands Eagles
I became a North Texas Master Naturalists in 2011. My training class came to John Bunker Sands Wetland Center on a field trip. I learned Bald Eagles had been seen there. I knew Eagles had been endangered and with our help they were doing better. I decided to volunteer here so I could see Eagles.
I took regular walks around the wetland, and in the fall of 2011 I saw Eagles working on a nest, but nothing more happened. The following fall 2012 I saw the Bald Eagles were back working on the nest again. I wanted to share the Eagles with the public but our Director John DeFillipo reminded me we need to keep the Eagles safe and we didn’t want to disturb them. In the spring I saw a blog by Chris Jackson of DFW Urban Wildlife showing 2 eaglets in the nest March 13th, 2013.
http://dfwurbanwildlife.com/…/chris-…/bald-eagle-nest-tower/
I went back to John and let him know the cat is out of the bag, may I share with the public now? He said let me do some checking and I will get back to you. The Eagle experts agreed our wetland center with the fence, field and trees made a safe spot for us to watch the Eagles without disturbing them. My husband Bill was asked to help monitor the Eagles. We spent hours watching and trying to get pictures of the eagles to share with you. This link is our first Eagle album from the spring of 2013

I led my first Eagle Watch in May 2014. You come and hike and we sit and watch and talk about Eagles together. This year the Eagles are a month early, so we will probably do our 6th eagle watch April 6th 2019 (watch our events page).
https://www.facebook.com/pg/John-Bunker ... 1489624387
In 2014 we watched the nest relocated for the safety of the Eagles. I was so happy with and so proud of all the people and companies who spent their time and money to help our Eagle family.

Today I have moved further away and I rely on the web cam and/or Tom Fleming to share Eagle updates. I hope one day the center has enough money to update the camera. For now, as we wait on news of JBS 11 & 12, I feel your frustration and excitement. Most of all I feel very blessed to have Eagles so close and to share them with all of you.
North Texas Master Naturalist, Kathy Nance

arizona.

unfortunately , around 8 pm last night something happened with the egg. she either accidentally stepped on it, or something dropped on it. Jack had been incubating just before that. He came back in and something happened then. after that , she slept upright on left side all night.

ravens did come in this morning, but they got nothing. I watched video quite a few times, but just before Jack was standing and hopping around in just that spot. There was no egg there. So the raven touched down but I am quite sure it got nothing as egg was gone already.this is my opinion I think Jill consumed the remnants adn ther e may be some pieces still there. .

unlike others. I think Jack was stepping up to the plate. He had started incubating and he did a great job of fending off intruder, . There is still time for a reclutch but with Jack being young , probably not.
I remember years , years ago when Ma norfolk had laid two or 3 eggs, she was attacked at night, and she left. We thought she was injured somewhere but a bout a week later she returned ot lay another egg in a different tree and thus Buddy, the educational bird.

to me there is no such thin gas a bad eagle or falcon etc. They are just all different and when young , they need to be taught.

so I will be gone fora a bit working on my computer an d house :girlcrazy:

hope they keep cam up . I have been talking with them

Posts for nests in Maryland and Washington DC are considered NORTHEAST USA.
I will move them to viewtopic.php?f=502&t=2378
As I have mentioned before, I am working on completely redoing the Eagles Forum so this may change.

all is going well. they have been bringing fish to nest and working on it . They continue to bring sticks to nest and root in bole. it seems they bring out big black clumps and are building up by cliff edge.

talons are crossed, as it is looking as thy may reclutch which would be this week.
will post pictures later

we are entering our 3rd week of deep freeze so I have computer time( too cold to linger outdoors(-30C and beyond) :cold: :4shiver:
