2 HATCHLINGS April 30, 2021 At dawn Bo brot Barb prey but it was too dark to see if she fed chicks. Pictured is Bo bringing prey later. Barb ate for awhile - kids screamed for food So far I have not SEEN her feed them. She stands between cam and kids She may feed them and I cant see Egg 3 may hatch, dont think 4th will This pair do not seem bonded, meaning both have a lot to learn. I know its a new Barb - it may be a new Boh too noon - Mom with 2 kids tucked under 1 pm I caught Dad and Mom with kids - with prey This is what I saw 2 open beek kids begging Dad eating Finally I saw Dad give a bite to Mom who gave it to one chick Thats all I witnessed Dad took prey and left |

I watched a good feed just now with just one little mishap....Dad brought the prey to the ledge, mom retrieved it and took the prey to the chicks. (Is that to make sure dad doesn’t make a hog of himself with prey meant for the babies?) Anyway the feed was going well although mom was blocking my view until.... she gave a piece to one chick that was too big for him to handle. I saw his body stiffen when it realized it couldn’t get the piece down. It retched and retched and wretched until finally he “spat” it up (whew) Well that tired him out quite a bit, and also in getting that piece of prey back up, he had turned his body so he was no longer facing his mom... The chick in back of him was going to town, grabbing every piece mom offered. But mom is really getting the process of feeding her babies figured out. As I watched she would reach around the backward chick and give him pieces of prey too. So the babies are doing OK - PS, still 2... |

As I’m observing, the cam operator seems to be on duty. He zooms in on the chicks, and back out....They do seem clumsy, and seem to be looking for prey pieces on the floor of the box. |

May 17, 2021 They are wandering all over the nest. I just catch the pics on Explore I've been lost in others cams and real life I suspect they'll go over the wall next week - - they found the entry corner |

GRADUATION May 20, 2021 - Well, curb crossing is a milestone May 19 Kids hang out on the curb safely by the cam window. :) They walk all over the nest. Dad fed the (cough) fledgling who crossed the curb to the far side. So progress is encouraged with food. I am always both happy - and sad - when I see the young go over the curb, because often they go somewhere off cam down there. |
