WOW! I just saw something that startled me- a banded male came into the nest and MaryAnn about gave me a heart attack. She jumped up with her wings held wide in a threatening manner, I assume telling the male to go away. He did, quickly.

Scared the you know what outta me, too...but, Mary Ann kept her cool..and went back to pebble picking.

Oh no, she took it away form eggs and left it by entrance . I do not kno w if still alive, but it was well. we need th e porfessor.
I cant watch this. she does not understand what to do

She's got it under her. It's alive because I heard it chirping--I still hear it. There is a different sound coming from one of the eggs and I can tell the difference. Unfortunately, I can't get any pictures of it cause I can't back up! :gaaaaah:

Remember Green Girl (or was it Red Girl) did this at Wilmington with her first clutch...we didn't think it..or the second one would even survive...

Oh, good. Bev can see that it's all right. It was Red Girl in Wilmington and she went on to become a world-class Mom, SGB! :20:

I was surprised to see the same thing out of Carla (COL). She let her 2 chicks uncovered and she just watched them. After about 20 minutes, she covered them and after that fed them.

Unfortunately, she's going to have 4. The chick in the egg is going strong. Mary Ann's coming along nicely.

was hoping number 4 would no t hatch but she is figuring this out.
I watched and taped two feeds after my first one.
she fed only one at nest feed and stuffed it . It could no t move, so next time she came in it was asleep in middle and she fed the other 2 very well. the one in middle woke up for a top up.

so I think she figures lots of small feeds and fill on e and then at other feed fill others
I was not even watching other egg \

Three up for feed. They appear to be strong. I couldn't tell whether she fed the one of the right side front, but it could be he got his fill earlier in the feed.

Dad is determine to get them all under him. He picked up a chick that was sticking out from him, and placed it where he covered him. It all happened so fast. Maybe he's had experience before. It's windy there now.

Like you. Ancy, I think this is the professor. Great video. YI taped one feed and sent them message as they were worried don’t know if same one you watched. But all 3 got stuffed. She did it one at a time :loveheart:

The one with head down on egg got fed first, you could see it’s crop , the other one got fed next, and then the one you showed :thumbupegg:
