Poppy:

Oh happy day, osprey fans!

On Rachel, we can rely. She laid her second egg yesterday, 69:14 hours after egg # 1, at 4 pm sharp. What a proud mom-to-be and a close-up on her precious gems.
This delivery was much quicker and "easier" than the first one.
The first egg was laid on April 25 at 6:46 pm, nest time. It was the "earliest" egg in nest history, laid only 15 days after her arrival!

and

Thanks, Ferenz for the great pictures!

P.S. I read on Dyfi that (G.B.) ospreys usually lay eggs 70 hours apart! Rachel was right on time!

 Mrs. Boathouse on the Boathouse nest layed her 1st egg ever @ 2335 on May 12th! Congratulations Mrs. Boathouse. As she has 2 suitors, I'm not sure which one is Mr. Boathouse ... :teehee: She has been positively identified as the female @ boathouse from last year.

Boathouse with a possible open wound under his left wing and Mrs. Boathouse with 2 discombobulated feathers!

:15heartbeat: Just found out the osprey pair @ the boathouse are named Dottie and Doug Boathouse! Still one egg only. Dottie has been on the nest this eve ... just not right now.

Ferenz, isn't the 1st pic the boathouse nest and the 2nd Rachel and Steve's?

Found this response on chat from Steve Kress in regards to the boathouse nest and the lack of incubation, I think, as I didn't see the question asked ...

I have seen osprey flying over the nest, but none on it recently. This is a young pair that laid late and with only one egg, a week bond to the nest in this first year of nesting. It would not surprise me if they abandoned for this year, but they will likely return next year Steve

Read this is the 3rd day of pip watch for Rachel and Steve! And another tidbit is Dottie Boathouse actually laid 2 eggs this season, however one immediately broke. She has not incubated the one egg for several days now and they do not anticipate a hatch this year, but hopes are up for next year as the Boathouses mature!

:eggthumb: A headless fish for Rachel! At first she was hesitant to leave the nest, but finally flew off with Steve on the eggs!
