Daddy-O came in to give Mom a break at 4:15 AM EDT. He is sitting on the 2 eggs & chick now. One egg has a huge pip. The chick should be able to break out by morning. It was difficult to tell in the dim flashing red light, but oddly enough I believe the egg in question was the 3rd egg laid. I could not get a good view of egg #2 to see how it is progressing.

Firstborn is ready to eat and newborn is thinking about it, but Mom doesn't have anything just yet!

Dad (on right) sees that Mom is brooding a nice piece of fish - he wants to remove it. Mom said, "Nope! It's just fine, thank you." Dad poked and poked, Mom tried to ignore him, then started chirping. Mom got up and I saw C1 and C2. C2 looked like his tail end may still have a piece of shell on it.

Here's Dad inspecting the fish Mom is brooding:

Dad left shortly after that.
12:06pm Mom broods.

I haven't been able to watch, unfortunately...
Just clicked on and OMG they are absolutely adorable!
They were tussling, beaking each other! Mom didn't have any food - but she "practice - fed" them:

If you look closely, you can see the little one with his little beak wide open! :15heartbeat:

Missed the food delivery. Mom is feeding. One of the chicks is facing the wrong way - but I think he may have gotten 1 or 2 bites (not sure). Many of the bites for the other chick have missed.

5:22pm Yay! Both facing the right way and both seem to be getting a good feeding!

Added: The 3rd egg has a bib pip and I think I could see a little osplet head!
(I have to leave - 15 minutes ago!)

Both parents are on the nest, Mom is feeding.
C2 has a piece of food in his mouth - has not swallowed - it may be too large.
He put his little head down and hasn't picked it up yet.

I hope Mom or Dad sees it when they clean up after dinner.
It was difficult to see how much C1 ate.

8:38pm C2 picked up his little head and the food is gone (Whew!).
Mom is eating, C1 is still hungry (mouth open).

8:41pm Both chicks heads popped up again. C2 has a nice little crop! Can't see C1 - he's still opening mouth for more food but I can't see what he's getting.

8:43pm Mom is brooding.
(Couldn't see the 3rd egg.)

Just had a quick look at the family. Chicks look fine. Egg #3 looks intact (must have been hallucinating yesterday).
Mom is brooding now and Dad is on the nest.

At approximately 6:45 AM EDT Dad came in with a little Bluegill nosh. Mom ate most of it. She fed a little bit of it to the chicks (who didn’t really act very hungry). Then she covered them up for a nap.

I was wondering if we were looking at the same nest when I read that yesterday.
