Freedom 2012 fledge from Jackson County has been found & is a daddy

Breaking News: Wayne State University, Detroit - A male chick that fledged prematurely was found at WSU. Chris Becher went to investigate and found a new pair of peregrine falcons. In 2008, Kariann Reno Anderson and Barb Baldinger put pea gravel in one of the balcony-type ledges on Old Main and apparently, this couple found that spot. The female is Isabella (black/red, 27/K) hatched in 2013 at the LG&E (Trimble County) Plant in Bedford, Kentucky. The male is Freedom (black/red, 09/P) hatched in 2012 at the Jackson County Tower Building in Jackson, Michigan. The fledgling will spend some time in raptor rehabber, Dave Hogan's Summer Flight Training Camp, then be released back to his parents.

From Audubon Society of Kalamazoo on 6/16/16:

Checker, the young male Peregrine who had fallen into the parapet has had another mishap. He was spotted on the roof of the Radisson and did not appear to be able to fly. Indeed, his left wing was drooping at the shoulder and he was not able to lift it normally. Luckily he was on a section of roof that was fairly confined, which offered an advantage to his human rescuer and he was rescued relatively easily. We brought him to Braveheart Raptor Rehabilitation Center (http://www.Braveheartraptorcenter.com) in Twin Lake and he was radiographed the following day. Luckily, he does not have any wing fractures but does have a fractured coracoid bone without much displacement. The coracoid bone is part of the shoulder girdle and is the same type of injury as one of the youngsters (Birdick) had last year. His wing will be in a wrap to hold it against his body for several weeks to allow support, stabilization, and healing of the shoulder area. This is similar to having your arm in a sling but probably less fun for a bird. Hopefully he will heal and be able to fly, as Birdick was able to, but he will be in rehab for a while before we know. The process of being injured, separated from his family, captured, transported, radiographed, and kept in a confined cage while wrapped in a bandage has been stressful. So, keep him in your thoughts and your fingers crossed that he does well and can come back to join his family.

I want to thank the staff at the Radisson for alerting us when they spotted a bird on the roof who was not moving or acting normally. Without getting him into rehab, a flightless bird would not survive very long on a roof.

Stay tuned for more Peregrine falcon news at http://www.KalamazooFalcons.com

Well I didn't even get a chance to report on Macomb County/ Mt Clemens about a sweet little girl named Grace.
The only hatch out of 5 eggs. Now I must report sad news.
Sweet Grace has died. You had a little taste of life as a Falcon. FLY HIGH FLY FREE SWEETHEART. :sum7:

Just found 2014 offspring of Rebecca's @ Kalamazoo. Promise is in Detroit.

Update: Whittier Apartments, Detroit - On Tuesday, Chris Becher and Barb Baldinger saw 3 juveniles on the roof and one poking out of a balcony while the adults, Theresa (black/red, 20/W) from Chicago and Promise (black/red, E/06) from Kalamazoo were flying overhead. Today, the parents kept a close watch over the balconies, so perhaps the juveniles were tucked inside them.
