Actually, each individual is different...some change quickly, others it can take longer...Males usually change faster than females. (no clue why) Some have completely changed by fall and the feet/cere become a brighter yellow by the following spring. Some feet change to yellow, but the cere is slower to change.

its all very confusing...

Thanks SGB. I learn more every day!
So tell us off the record…….with your experience, what do you think the Las Vegas odds are that this was Baby Pee Wee? :think

:hmmmm Thanks Sky. It certainly sounds quite variable. I suppose without bands, we will never know if this youngster that visited the ledge is Baby or a "Fluffy."

Fireworks have caused so many problems for our little ones in different places. Actually, I guess they have caused some adults problems, too. :egg15:

Red, White and Boom always worries me with our falcons.
Lets hope they were in a secluded place and out of harms way.

I share that sentiment....it's an empty ledge whenever I check. Sigh! :imbored: Spark and Durand are no doubt taking the kiddies on adventures farther away from the nest area. Hope they are all well after those fireworks, which seemed too close for comfort. Yikes! Rainy day in Columbus today.
Happy 4th everyone!

I am not seeing anything, but I'm hearing a juvie...unless I've been staring at this cam for so long I'm actually inventing a bird....which is possible..

Dang...I just missed the perfect vid. One of the kids chased Durand (?) up to the ledge and I missed the entire thing..

By the time I made it back to the computer, this was all I got..Durand on the ledge and juvie flying off..

Image

Durand made a brief trip to the box (which, for me, was way outta sync with the ledge)

Image

Image

Heard very close juvie screams (maybe below the ledge) and Durand took off in a flash..straight down

Image

I've been recording this cam all day...the one time I stop the cam to reset, answer the phone, and BAM...juvie lands on the ledge..LOL
