I also am glad there are peole keeping track.

best time t sight the youngsters , at least at our sites, is very early morning and late evening.

I am sure Zeus will continue to supplement i f he sticks around. Remember Polly at Montreal. she had a bad leg and they took care of her even into the next nesting season. N ow she has a site of her own. Never count out these magnificent falcons. where there is will there is a way.

I hop e Zeus finds a mate for next year but not until next year.

Ground report time ! Yesterday night about 8 pm I pulled into downtown South Bend and saw a bird on the NE corner of the County City Building. Closer investigation revealed him to be the male chick, propping his bad leg on the building. He sat there for a while, turning his head this way and that, but mostly sitting calmly. Then all of a sudden he took off. :sprint Falcon cries. It was Zeus ! The two of them flew round for a bit, ( the male chick flies quite well ) then flew behind the Chase Building and vanished. None of us watchers spotted them before I had to leave and go to work around 8:20. I was told that the female is still around, roosting each night with her brother, but she will probably leave soon. Now that I know where they roost, I will try to go and catch sight of them.

We had a backyard visitor tonight- we had a falcon hunting for dinner around our yard....never saw him/her swoop for anything, but s/he was definitely on the hunt!

I didn't see a leg hanging down, but I did try to look as best I could! I really need binoculars and a good zoom lens for my camera!

gigi...I think you are right...I've been recording this cam....and this sure does look like a hand to me...I couldn't figure out what it was at first...nor could I figure out what it was doing!!! LOL

I have been trying to watch, but I finally got my Eagle cam back and boy is there noisy ones there today. Sure hope this works.
