Parent hiding out on top of the nest box under the cover of darkness in the shade for the past hour that I have been watching. It could have been there longer. Maybe Aries? Taking a break from the kids? Those noisy teenagers are probably chasing the parents every chance they get. :teehee:

4 pm - Parent on the roof.

I wish we knew how the kids were doing....I guess no news is good news...With so many tall buildings in Columbus, I guess there's no need to return to the ledge like we see at other sites...bummer..

Anyway, Durand visited the box for a few, then trotted/loped down toward the ledge cam end. As far as I know, she is still there.

:eggthumb: Lol...I recall watching Durand make her way down the ledge a few years back post-fledge and looking over her shoulder as she ambled along. It was so funny. She looked like she was trying to be stealthy. She ended up in the corner off cam. I'll bet she is trying to hide again. :teehee: I understand from C&C that the parents hide at this stage, since the kids will pursue them any chance they get. I suppose this may be a good sign regarding the kids. :15heartbeat:

They both stood motionless for so long, I thought the cameras had frozen. But no, they're both just hanging out. Probably hiding from the kids!

Those pics are too cute. It's a nice cool day there. Temp is 66 degrees right now.....so there's no heat to explain the sleepiness. I think we have some very tired parents that are looking for some quiet time. :egg6:

I am suffering from empty nest syndrom - I hope to get downtown tonight and hopefully try to look around early in the morning before work to find the 4 newly fledged juvies - you are right SGB, no news is good news indeed.

That would be awesome!! I do hope you see/hear somebody...a parent has been on/off the ledge periodically this morning..(I think Durand) other than the first early visit, the other visits have been rather short. Nobody on the ledge now (10:57 am)

I wonder WHEN in July the streaming may stop...dang, I'd better get my Durand and Aries fix in now, just in case!!!....and come on kids..you only have a few more days to make an appearance!!

Hello Everyone: I was downtown yesterday afternoon. I spoke to one of the Highway Patrolmen about the birds - I asked him if he had any news to share. He did not, probably a good thing. He told me that he has heard their screams in the past few days - I, unfortunately, did not hear anyone nor did I see anyone. I even looked this morning to no avail, so I am sorry for a better report. I hope to check out the Rife later today. One story that the guard told me - a friend of his was out on the roof of the Rhodes and was dive-bombed by one of the parents - he was quite frightened but was able to keep from gettinng hit. At least he did not get a broom j- ghee whiz

:thanku Thanks so much Rosekk! We really appreciate your reports and the time/effort you put in to check on our babies. These kids are just not coming to the ledge. Having eyes and ears on the ground is so helpful to those of us stuck behind a computer. Sounds like the parents are still being very aggressive, so the kids are probably nearby. Glad that guy on the roof didn't get hurt. Like SGB, I wonder when we will lose the cams in July. Boo hoo! It would be nice to see one of the kids before then.
