This afternoon one of the females fell backwards off the ledge. She ended up on the ground and some good samaritans found her. She was checked out by Wildlife Haven and she is just fine, TPC put her back in the nest.

The male flew when she put the female back, he's at the right age to fledge...surprised he hadn't already fledged.

The male flew when TPC put the female chick back in the nest last evening. Here's a post from TPC on the Manitoba forum about Dixon.

Dixon decided to "drop" by and check out the RWB - well, their parking garage. He looked fine and fiesty but decided to get him checked out by the ever wonderful folks at Wildlife Haven. Won't be for a couple of hours though so he's destressing somewhere cool and quiet until they check him out. If he needs a more thorough exam or some care, he'll be heading out to Haven, if not, I'll get him back on the Radisson, likely this evening when he's more likely to stay put for the night ...

All three chicks accounted for, they are all on the Alt Hotel cater-corner (kitty corner) to the Radisson Hotel. I believe it is a 20 storey building. :sum9:

All three together

These two look like they are trying to push each other off the ledge.

There are now three peregrines back in Wpg. One Is Hart, a 2012 hatch from the Radisson. The other two no ID yet but they think they are female, Dennis thinks one is Joli. :dancegirl:

Fighting at the Radisson

Joli proved that just before lunch when into town flew Faith and she made a beeline for the Radisson nestbox and she and Joli had a no-holds-barred knock-down, drag-out fight - actually 3 fights in the nestbox and who knows what kind of aerial combat. Both seemed to be without obvious injury after their last round in the nestbox - no blood that I could see on feet, feathers or faces so hopefully it was more sound and fury than injurious. Both birds have flown off - Joli has been back a couple of times so who knows. Faith and Joli are very equally-matched, can't say it will be the last fight over the nestbox between these two.

This is the kind of spring excitement I could do without ....

Both of these females are large and unwilling to back down without a fight. Lots of foot holding, a bit of biting on the beaks, yelling and posturing but neither looked to have blood on them when the last fight ended. Both birds seem to have flown away without any trouble. Joli has been back to the box a couple of times and looked okay. Princess had a hum-dinger of a fight a few years ago and she looked injured but was able to fly and after a couple of days of resting at and in the nestbox (without disturbance) she was right as rain. Both Joli and Faith are younger so I think they should be fine.

And yes, we have let the rehab organizations know that the birds are back in town and to let us know if they receive any peregrines.
And yes, we are keeping a close eye on all our cameras to see who turns up where and how they look.

The only live streaming cam is the one at the Radisson and that won't be until almost egg hatch time.

I always hate this time. WE never know who is coming back and they all make a bee line for th e spot they think is the best.

I am checking all our sites this weekend.

it appears that so far today, Faith is at RAdisson box and looks fine, but as Tracy says, feathers can hide a few things. She an d Hart have bonded in box.

Joli is at their nestbox

but we know this can all change. lets see when the other males return.

things usually sort themselves out here. Fingers crossed
