nest is certainly a mess. She keeps the food there so she can have a next feed. We still have not gotten to bottom of what is going on, but it is strange that we only see male first thing in morning , and maybe once at night, 3-4 days, this last 2 weeks. We have our suspicions but no proof as of now. He has certainly been spooked.

We went out for over 4 hours on Thursday. got there around noon. should have gone the day before. no sign of male for sure till 4pm. now this is a great male so something has him on edge, during some days of the week. (up until last week, he was regularly relieving and bringing prey to box. )

so female has had to hunt at those times. When you do not see her, do not assume she is away. she likes to roost on Cam, as she can see better, to hunt. she can track what is going to the ponds. We saw her roost on stack across the way also. Frontm there she can see box and pond.

we had not seen male at all on Wed but Thursday evening he brought prey to to M27 and was in box for about 4 minutes.

yesterday there was a lot more fresh prey, after a duck in morning ( which she probably caught), and male brought in his own bird in yesterday afternoon and did a feed. I saw him on hte rail also during the day.

waiting for him today but fresh prey has been brought in so he is around. we will see. We are fortunate that our new female has proven herself to be calm and formidable and resilient.

our biologist is aware, and this is our nest to keep an eye on. this is our best site, so hate to see things go array.

these are form yesterday

when M27 had prey she stuffed kids so they could not move

Hi Bev, I haven't been very good at reporting and/or showing captures but I have been looking in on all 4 sites several times a day.......... Thank you for this report!

Crops really didn't look that empty when the feed began..

Started out with a lounger, who moved to the back corner..then changed her mind..

The lounger makes her move..

She really pigged out, but once she got her fill (with nearly an exploding crop) she moved to the back corner. The baby got the least amount of food, but I don't think it was that terribly hungry..

that was so cute SGb :15heartbeat:

we are a little concerned with their scratching, but other than that, they are looking a bit better. They had lots of feeds today, big and small, so they all eventually get all they need.

SAt , sunday and today we have seen our male more. let us hope what was spooking him has stopped

male on the rail. he brought food to rrail

love what she did with her wings

what can I say. they know and are not very concerned. I could say a lot but will bite my tongue.

banding will be on Monday afternoon. we will be there so we can check on chicks. I hope they are well . like some other places that put up cams,, they really do not understand the importance of cams. eggs and chicks hatching is not the whole story.

we have 2 females and on e male. gord forgot the powder but hopefully they will be o.k. We were out there along with marge an d a few of gords crew. Gord had already been to two other sites. He had vinny with him

It was a more stressful banding as they had it in their lunch room and so too many people for me and the chicks. and it was very hot. Poor things were so hot,

their bands are; the numbers always move when I post
male - B
95 so this is B over 95

Female - N
44 N over 44

Female - N
45 N over 45

they had quite the storm like we did last night and it is very windy out there today.with the wind will come dust and coal dust etc.

female just flew in with prey. second feed for the day. more like she blew in :egg11:

pictures from banding only a few as too many there
