A Word about PM's

Several of you have encountered the "NEW MESSAGE" notification only to discover that when you go to your pm box, you can't find the new message. Your pm box holds 75 messages so when you receive a new pm, the system "holds" that message until you delete old messages to clear up a spot. After you have "cleaned out" your message box, go back to page 1 of your messages and look right above the pg 1 list. You will see something that says, release new messages (or something like that..). click on that, and your new messages will appear in your box.

Hope this makes sense..

EDIT: Scroll down for another option!!

Thanks for this explanation, SGB. It is rather confusing if you don't know what steps to take to get to your messages.

Thanks Catwoman...

You do have one more option so that you don't have to worry about pm's being held. You can change your PM settings. To do that:

    *Go to User Control Panel
    *Private Messages
    *Rules, Folders, and Settings
*Scroll down until you see "if folder is full" and choose "Delete oldest Message" (or you can instruct it to move oldest message to saved messages, if you have set that folder up)
    *Click Change

...and you're done...

A NEW Feature...I have added a YouTube BBcode button to the new message page. For those of you who post video from YouTube, all you will need to do is copy the link to your video in the message box as you normally do, but instead of highlighting and using the "click" button, use the "YouTube" button instead. It will embed your video directly in your post.

Thanks DEF for sending me the HTML replacement code. For the life of me, I have never been able to figure it out!!!
