Very, very quiet today...maybe its too hot to fly...not even a fly, so far, on the ledge...

I have been looking in from time to time and nothing. Looking for a mate but probably keeping watch also.

When I first read this Bev, I thought you were talking about YOU! :hahah

I thought you were saying you were looking for a mate but also watching the cam! :sunrolleyes:

My second thought was "now how is she going to find a better mate than the one she has"? The next time I read it I realized you were talking about Durand...duh! :eggwave:

I'm also the one who read what Mick wrote "both just landed" as "Beth just landed" & the picture that flashed through my mind was Beth in the BCAW plane landing on the ledge... :suncrazy:

Good morning everyone - I bet you thought I was lost - I have been extremely busy at work and at home so thank you one and all for keeping the watch on this ledge. :eggwave:

I was downtown this morning on my way in to work, waiting on my bus and then I heard a falcon calling - so I told my friend, listen, it's a falcon; she looked up and from her vantage point she found the falcon sitting on the building right in front of us - (there was a light pole in my way) next to the Huntington Bank building - just sitting there and not 10 feet away were sitting a pigeon and another little bird. It was so exciting to actually see the falcon, just a sitting there looking around. I did not have my camera so, I am sorry, no pictures but I plan to carry it more often for just an occasion as this. Well, I could not even stay and watch as my bus came and off to work I went. What a great way to start off the day!! :thumbegg:

Thanks for that great report, rosekk17!!! I am so excited you got to see a falcon...I wonder if you were seeing Durand or maybe a mystery man?

My impression was that it could have been a male because it seemed on the smaller side; the other small piece of evidence that it could be a new bird - I have never seen a falcon on that building before yesterday. I sure wish I could have taken a picture yesterday. I could not tell if there were bands because I could not see all of the falcon's legs due to the position it was sitting. I hope to see it there again really soon.

Other falcon appearing to land on the next ledge...Durand is not alarm calling....and this bird just buzzed the ledge again...

Hello everyone :eggwave:

I hope someone is recording today because I've been seeing what looks like another falcon flying around.At one point the other bird tried to land on the ledge,but flew off instead.Durand is on the ledge right now :smile:

I sure hope she can find a mate before next season. :smile:

Here ya go...strange, strange, strange...

You won't see Durand....you'll only hear her....lots of nothing in the recording, but you'll see the mystery falcon buzzing...and Durand vocalizing..
