:loveshow: OMG - What wonderful news this morning that Yellow Boy fledged and safely landed on the parking garage! And it sounds as if one of the two (Red Boy and White Boy) that were on the building ledge earlier this morning has also fledged. Thanks, Kim, for checking on them this morning and locating Yellow Boy - what a relief! And thanks, Greg, for checking on them a while ago and noting that only one was on the building ledge - meaning that the other one must have fledged too.

I'd drive down there right now if I could, but my schedule's full until after 4:00. I'll definitely be there early tomorrow morning, and I'll also try for late this afternoon. In the meantime, I'm hoping that all the kids - wherever they are - will be safe.

Congratulations on the first fledge here (and maybe two)! No wonder the parents were trying to chase you away, Kim. Looks like you were a bit closer than you knew you were at the time. I hope the new flyers do well out there.

Oops, I forgot to thank Kim for her "informal fledge watch" information and instructions that she posted on the Wilmington Falcon blog.

Note: In Kim's post, there's a link to a post by Greg about fledging directed to office workers in the downtown area. Thanks Greg!

Unless one is really hidden in the box and has been for quite a while, two of them have fledged. <sigh>

Since I have a clear schedule tomorrow, I intend to make the trip. I am not sure when the best time would be for me in the morning, but IF there is a time when its short staffed, let me know and i can make sure i am there when needed. That is if 476 and I95 are not bumper to bumper en route from newtown square, i can likely be there within 40 minutes

Until a little after 1:00 pm EDT, the situation was about where it was this morning: the first to fly on the parking garage ledge across the street, and two outside the box on the building ledge where the box rests. Bernie O'Donnell saw one of those two get blown off the ledge, almost make it to a garage roof, hit a window (not hard) and head down out of sight toward the street.

People saw him on the walk and (I think) called Kim. She emailed me and Diane Korolog who had the bird in a cardboard cat carrier when I went back to the roof. She said he looks fine; I think she said white (boy?). Kim and Diane are returning him to the box per Craig's instructions.

First one's still on the garage ledge.

Kim will have it more precisely when she's able.

Thanks for that update, Greg. I'm glad White appears to be okay and will have a new chance to take off when he is ready to do so. I'm glad he wasn't hurt by his experience and the bumping into the window/building.

One just jumped out. When there were two in the box I looked across town out my window but the sun was in my face so I couldn't tell whether any were outside.

But two in the box means either that they never left the box (including the box ledge) or that one of the three that have gotten farther than the box ledge has gotten back.

Thanks for the reports today! Wow, what a stressful day! I guess we thought Red Girl's chicks were going to give everybody an easy fledge time...not! :hahah

Thanks for the video & pictures, SGB! I see Red isn't going to let that big girl continue to steal the food. Red wanted to feed her. :flirty:

They are apparently keeping their parents (& everybody trying to keep them safe) on their toes! I can hear Red saying to CJ once the kids have all left home, "I need a vacation--I hear the Bahamas are nice this time of year"!
