Cute pics...

If I looked up the weather correctly, it is currently 79 degrees...going down to 68. Tomorrow, 81 with 60% chance of thunderstorms....cooler, but they certainly don't need strong winds...we know how windy it can get in that box...

Good news about the weather sgb. It's sad to watch such heavy panting. Still, they seem such strong chicks!

Dot is feeding one chick, but a couple of the others are going for the prey underneath.

July 8:

The Raptor Resource Project was on site today to band the four eyasses. The banding was a success, despite the hot weather. The eyasses – two males and two females – appeared to be healthy. The males are named Wayne and Hanson, after Wayne Hanson, Great River Energy’s former director of Minnesota generation, who recently passed away. The females are named Elisabeth and Skye, chosen from a list of names provided by students from Salk Middle School in Elk River, Minn. A group of students from the middle school closely followed the birds during the school year and a few students from the group attended the banding. The young birds will now begin to learn to fly and fend for themselves. We expect they will remain in and around the nesting box for the next several weeks

Thanks for the banding info, Kitten! I hope they'll wait a few weeks before they begin to fly! :suncrazy:

My gosh, they are having a storm there like nothing I have ever seen. Continuous lightning.

Dot has moved into the box to be with the chicks.

OMG - I have never seen a storm like this one. Dad is most likely huddled nearby.

Me too kittenface. He needs to be holding on for dear life somewhere. I tell ya, I've been afraid the whole box would blow off too. Dot looks a little scared to me.

She sure does and that one baby is just right there with her I hope it doesn't get blown around, I wish it would move over with the others in the corner then Dot could go stand in front of all of them

Boy I sire wish they would go to the outside view now then we could see all of them at the same time they like to hide behind the camera they are also lining up so sweet
I'm going to sound paranoid but that one chick hasn't got up today for anything has anyone else seen it up eating or running around like the others, its not even getting up for food still just laying there while everyone else is noisy and eating now I am worried my grson says he is probably tired I sure hope so
