Interesting picture, Kim. That's cool when you know the roosting spots so you know where to look.

dont you like the "noise" with the high iso settings? personally, i hate the term noise i still call it graininess but then i am a reformed film shooter. However, for such important shots whatever works is fine

Yes that does look deep Reenie. That is where RG was napping the other day when I caught Her in there. Maybe dreaming of egg laying! LOL

Thanks Kim for the answer on the light in the windows. That's a whole different world up there on that rooftop.

I noticed how deep the scrape they were making is, too, & thought "don't they know that 5 is pretty much the limit to how many eggs/kids a falcon pair has"? Seems like they're digging a nice deep scrape so it will hold many eggs. Well, maybe they feel that in order to be able to raise 5 kids to independence, they have to have at least 2 more kids to begin with (since they lost 2). Does that make sense?

Basically what I was trying to say is that, judging by what happened to them this year, in order for them to be able to raise 5 kids, they would have to hatch 7.

Five eggs is a big clutch. CJ was one of five (2006), but the rest of the clutches of his parents (2003 -- 2009) were four, and in 2003 only three hatched.

Thanks for that video Reenie. They are few and far between.
Am concerned with the weather forecast. Hope they find a cool spot.

My thanks, too for the video. They really are working on that scrape. They ought to clean out some of the feathers up there while they're at it!

Sorry but I didn't sleep well last night so I didn't get up until 4:45! I didn't stop to see the falcons on the way in since I figured they probably wouldn't be around. I checked out the window earlier and didn't see any of them. Will check again later if I can.

Gee Kim.! Everyone deserves a break!! And YOU are definitely deserving! Hope they are near an A/C vent someplace this week. Although, I imagine those thermals are a lot cooler up there.
