I called and spoke with Brenda. She is aware that the cam is not working and said that IT was working on it. She will probably call again and get an update. Meanwhile, the falcons are all doing well, although it is hot and the heat index is high.

I told her that we were missing them and she understood. Seemed like a nice person.

This is Tammy from Great River Energy. I work on the technical end of the birdcam for GRE. (Dot, we met at the banding :) I finally decided to create an account here so we could have a way to communicate.

It has been very hot and humid here in the Midwest and we have had some nasty thunderstorms lately. We think one of the storms knocked the video encoder offline. It's a hot and sweaty climb up to where the equipment is, but we're working on it! Though I find the conspiracy theories entertaining, I can assure you everyone involved in the birdcam is rooting for our little bird family! ;) I'll post when the cam is back online.

Ok, the birdcam is back online. Sorry about the camera lens. We'll see if we can get it switched to the outside view.

I'm going to be one of your biggest pains Tammy but is there any way of getting the outside camera up now?

The camera angle should get switched sometime later today. After talking to the poor soul who had to go up into the plant to turn the cam back on, it's possible the equipment is overheating due to the weather.

FYI: The current temp at the plant in Elk River is 92 F with a tropical 61% humidity and a heat index of 107 F and virtually no wind. :suncon:

"God Bless You" to the men and women who have to work in this tropicall heat!

Hi Tammy :bonnet: It's always nice to have the membership of someone on location. Welcome to BCAW, and if you have any questions, just let us know. Please tell the person who crawled up to fix the cam that we appreciate it!!! :flirty:

Poor Dot was in there with the chicks. I think that she gets stressed out when she sees them so miserable.

Oh I see the other view.

That would be nice! I'm afraid you'll have to ask Mother Nature for that one.
