Yes, that is Freedom.

But I wonder if the pics below could possibly be of Roosevelt. Since only the top and/or back of the head was visible at any time, it is very hard to tell, but this bird has a very dark hood, and I don't see the pronounced white feathers which Freedom has above her cere.

Well Carly, any alternative would be better than Roosevelt not being here at all...and if he's busy with a girlfriend, that ok by me....It is strange that we've never witnessed a challenge for this box...

Alison, those are very interesting pictures....I would like to think they are Mr. R!!!!

couple more of Freedom..

I wonder...no one ever challenges for this nest do they? Roosevelt tried to court Freedom earlier this Spring so we know he's still willing to nest..are there other nest sites nearby? Maybe he's got a girl and a family somewhere and that's why he hasnt' been around much. I mean the tiercel's certainly don't lose their mojo regardless of age.

Just throwin it out there..doesn't have to stick..but be a nicer alternative than having him gone for good.

I agree that it would be a better alternative than having him gone for good. I had asked Juanita about whether there were other peregrines who go thru this area & she said there were. I guess its possible that Roosevelt is busy with a family somewhere. As I mentioned before, he did this last year or the year before & had us all worried, then out of the blue, he showed up, so maybe he has another mate somewhere!

I like that Carly. I think I'll flow with that for awhile!

She has been lying there for the last 5 minutes, hardly moving. This is very unusual and worrying.

Now she has lifted her head a little

I worry about her--especially now that she appears to be alone...

She is lying down again.
Would you all please keep an eye on her tonight? I'm off to bed in a few minutes. And I too worry about her.
