EXCELLENT PICS KIM! SO NICE TO SEE THE TWO GIRLS AND THE ONE WITH ONE IN THE AIR WHERE THEY ARE LOOKING AT EACH OTHER IS AWESOME! YOU ARE RIGHT, NO NEST BOX THERE AT THIS BRIDGE. IF YOU ARE AT THE RESTAURANT VIEWING THE BRIDGE WHERE THEY ARE, THE NEST BOX IS TO THE LEFT ON THE NEXT BRIDGE DOWN. LAST YEAR, THE FEMALE WOULD GO DOWN AND PERCH ON THAT BRIDGE TO HUNT FOR FOOD. THEY DIDN'T USE THAT NEST BOX THAT WAS PLACED THERE THOUGH. I GUESS SINCE THEY ARE DOING OK WITHOUT ONE ON THEIR BRIDGE, THEY WON'T GO TO THE TROUBLE TO PUT ONE UP. THE BRIDGE WHERE THEY ARE IS LIKE A MILE LONG I THINK THEY SAID AND ART HAS TO CRAWL THROUGH EACH ARCH IN THE BRIDGE TO ABOUT THE MIDDLE WHERE THEY ARE JUST TO BAND THEM! WHAT A JOB!

THANKS AGAIN KIM. I SURE HOPE I GET TO GO DOWN TO SEE THEM IN PERSON SOON! JUST WISH I HAD A SCOPE!

WOW!!! Kim wonderful pictures.!!!! As always! They are beautiful and look like they are ready to take off! Hope you are able to go back up! Great about the Blackberry! And I can imagine it is VERY peaceful floating around. So in touch with raw nature. I say that with the fact that you are capable to do that. Now Me, no! LOL! Just be careful!

Reenie, enjoyed your story about the Bridges. I didn't know how they were. Will have to visit some time! Also, Kudo's to Art for crawling all that distance. Can't imagine! Again dedication and the need for banding. Hope you get there to see them too.

Greg, Craig's comment is so true, but for us tenderhearts, hard to take. :-(

Loved your pictures, Kim. That last one was also outstanding with the lighting.

Charlie told me that he takes Art out to the nest area in his boat and he has a ladder he uses so I'm not sure if Art has to crawl on his belly that far! Far enough I'm sure though!

Does anyone know when the eggs here hatched?

Can't help you Kim as I know nothing about the area.. But as far as banding, I wonder how Art keeps the adults away as He is doing that? Would like to know about that. And what time of day does He do it?

THANKS FOR THE ID GREG, I WASN'T SURE. I STARTED TO RECORD HER, BUT SHE JUST STAYED IN THAT POSITION SLEEPING, SO I JUST POSTED THE SHOT OF HER INSTEAD OF THE VIDEO. THEN I MISSED HER LEAVING.

KIM, I DON'T THINK THEY ACTUALLY KNOW EXACTLY WHEN THE EGGS HATCHED BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE WHERE THEY LAY THEM. THEY WATCH THE PARENTS HABITS AND WHEN THEY START BRINGING FOOD BACK, THAT'S HOW THEY KNOW THERE ARE KIDS. THAT'S WHY WHEN MEREDITH SAID WHEN THEY WERE BANDED, THERE WAS A GUESS AS TO ABOUT HOW OLD THEY WERE.

Wonderful pictures of those two beautiful juvies on the bridge, Kim. I hope if when they fledge that they do it on the NORTH side of the bridge, for there's landing places on that side. Nothing on the south side but river. And was happy to see Red Girl visiting the box. I'm in Arizona right now, and the only falcon I've seen so far was a Kestrel.

Found a beautiful feather in the yard this morning, when out watering. Cool at 6:00 A.M., but won't last long. Jane, glad you are seeing some birds out there. Wondering if Kim is at Columbia.

I may go to Columbia this afternoon but it all depends on how much I get done around here this morning. It sounded like they had people who would be around during the day today so they probably don't need me.

I got there yesterday just before 6 AM yesterday and by the time I got my kayak on my car it was almost 8 PM! I actually slept until 7:30 this morning which is unheard of for me!

I'm happy to say that Red is flying VERY well and I will post some pictures later. I'm sorry to say that Blue hasn't been seen since Thursday. I know I heard another juv calling yesterday a couple times though so I have to think he's still there. Hopefully someone will see him today.

I saw both adults chasing off an intruder falcon in the afternoon and then later saw two falcons chasing and attacking each other way up in the sky. One was much larger than the other so I'm thinking it was the adult female since I hadn't seen her in a while. Hopefully she got rid of the intruder once and for all.

Thanks for the update Kim. It sounds as if you had a really long day at Columbia yesterday!

I'm glad to hear that Red is flying well and that other falcon watchers are around for the weekend, but I'm sorry to hear that Blue hasn't been sighted for several days. (I'm hoping that Blue is just out of sight - practicing his flying in private - and that he'll return once he's perfected his flight skills.)

Thanks for your fledge report, Kim! Glad you've been able to get to Columbia a couple of times, both for your sake & the sake of the juvies. These kids & their disappearing acts sure worry the heck out of us! :tearhair

Have really enjoyed reading your posts of Columbia, Kim...and those pics are just fantastic....Great news about Red...I certainly hope you hear that blue has been spotted!!!

You certainly have put in some very long falcon watch days these past months...so, I think you need to sleep later than 7:30!!!!

(I know its not funny, but I got a chuckle out of your Blackberry story..)

Oh so glad to hear your report Kim. Sorry to hear about Blue, but until He's found, there is still hope. Great to hear that Red made the grade now and can keep herself safe. You certainly have been a REAL TROOPER on those waters, and you deserve to sleep as long as you need. What selfless dedication! Glad you are safe and saw successful fledging. I know it made everything worth while for all the time put in.

I didn't actually get to see the fledging. :(
Red flew the night before. FYI, Blue is also a girl. :)
