With everything going on with the Earthquake I forgot to post that the Hawk cam is up already they said it would be November but its up and running I haven't spotted any Hawks yet but here is the link to it it has sound but it sounds like they are still working the bugs out

The same biologist whose bald-eagle webcast went viral this year is setting up hawk cameras this weekend near Prather.
Folks worldwide will be able to follow the Central California hawks as they prepare the nest. The webcast will continue rolling next year through egg laying, hatching and rearing.
The nest is on a ranch owned by former Pelco chief executive officer David McDonald, who loved the 24/7 look at nesting eagles in Iowa. McDonald spoke with the Minneapolis-based biologist, Bob Anderson, who set up the eagle cam. Anderson and McDonald hatched the idea for a hawk cam.

Here is another bit of interesting information about the web cam

70 feet up a tree located near Prather sits a nest belonging to a couple of Red Tail Hawks.
“It's a bird that's really not appreciated,” said Bob Anderson of the Raptor Resource Project.

Anderson is a biologist who has surrounded the nest with a microphone and three cameras; one even features infrared technology for nighttime shots. This bird's eye view allows you to see everything from the laying of eggs, to hatching and fledging the nest.

“We can zoom in and blow up that egg full screen. We can zoom in and blow up that baby to where we see the whole head of that baby coming out of an egg. It's incredible, it really is,” explained Anderson.

Property owner and former Pelco C.E.O., David McDonald, contacted Anderson about following the lives of the hawks after seeing some of the biologist's other work on the website Ustream. It was there Anderson focused on a pair of Bald Eagles in Iowa.

“Last I looked we had 206 million views and still climbing,” said Anderson.

Danny Obar was one of those viewers. He's now excited to watch the hawks.

“Extremely educational, very entertaining and it's a feel good story. In a time in the country when it's a little tumultuous, it's something to occupy people,” said Obar.

In the nearby house lie the brains of the operation. There’s a computer setup that comes complete with a joystick to move the camera.

“The feed will be fed from this computer to the web and you'll be able to view it online,” said Ian Cooke of Future Home Systems.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anderson calls this the beginning of a long, beautiful relationship.

“Every year we might have to switch out the cameras or wipe off the lenses and make repairs, but hopefully it will be up for years and years,” said Anderson

I think so too kitten. I think this is a morph variation either a dark or rufous- don't know enough about hawks to be able to tell.

This Acorn Woodpecker visited today. Also I included some of the camera pan. Beautiful country!

Thanks George. I see the Acorn pair flitting around the hawks nest everyday. They make great sounds, both calling and digging holes.
