After a bit they all look alike to me. I try and look for so many things But this one does look familiar to me

It almost looks like a sideways U over D

I have noticed it freezes at the most inopportune times.

I think this is the band we always have trouble reading because it is worn. If same female as last year it will be horizontal I D

Gord has just confirmed what I thought. same female as we have have been watching in last few years

Helen had told me a few years ago hta ther band was scratched up and they thought about replacing it but never did.

It's pretty scratched up, but does suspiciously resemble 1/D (H/V) banded at Telus Calgary in 2005 as a nestling, first id at Genessee when Geoff caught her in 2009.

That's good news bev, Now to ID the male. The cam is still frozen!

I will let George know. He is going to try and zoom in on Friday but i do not know if he can do anything now.

bev, in your thumbnail series, I don't see bands on that bird. Can't remember if the male is banded.

I went and looked at 2011 archives and last years male was banded.

The first male back last year was not banded. the other male came back a bit later, but he should be earlier this year. This one looked like the first male that was driven off last year by our TR guy.
Some are jsut making their way back.

so we will jsut have to wait and see what happens. I actually thought there wre 3 different birds there yesterday.

Falcon in the nestbox right now. I cannot see any bands. He/she is all fluffed up, keeping warm in our chilly and rainy weather today.
