Thanks for posting that link, Kitten! I'm 99% sure that male at the nest is Dakota Ace after comparing the male in Carolyn's video (thank you, Carolyn) to the pictures of Dakota Ace last year. Same little cutie pie! :egg5:

Miracle

The male who they think is Dakota Ace had a meal in the box today , a lot of the feathers from his prey gathered around the egg like a little nest. :girlluv:

pfgirl has an update here :egg15:
The pair are on 4 eggs and we have a partial band ID which is not Dakota Ace. When I know more, I will be sure to share the information.

Fargo Peregrine Falcon Project (FalconCam)
Wick Corwin's April 18th Update

Hi Friends, we now have four eggs. This should be it. Expect hatching to start in mid May
The web camera seems to be very reliable, and our audience has been growing steadily. I understand the existing service will provide up to 500 people with simultaneous access. We have not exceeded that number yet, but the time may come when expanded service will be needed. The basic address is dk.audubon.org. A link to the falcon camera is at the bottom of the home page.

The male is proving to be hard to identify, but I have now seen enough to know he is someone new. The band used for identification purposes was originally black and red. The character in the black field is a sideways X. Unfortunately, the red dye on this band has mostly worn off. This leaves the bottom half of the band almost silver (bare aluminum). It also makes the bottom character very hard to read as there is little contrast. Until we get that deciphered, precise identification cannot be made. If anyone has better success, please let me know. The partial read matches 9 males in the database, including two who hatched here in 2008.

Very strange.......I wonder what happened to them! Maybe they weren't viable and the falcons removed them? I guess unless someone was watching, we will never know. :egg16:

Well here is an update on the egg mystery, got this from Nora at RRP forum
they thought I was crazy I think when I said that eggs were missing :girlcrazy: guess I'm not as nuts as they thought only half :egg11:

Fargo Peregrine Falcon Project (FalconCam)
Wick Corwin's May 16th Update:

Michael Vosburg / Forum Photo Editor
Fargo Falcons

Although the nest initially contained four eggs, only two remain. The others were recently destroyed by the adults, presumably because they were not viable and had begun to break. Assuming they are fertile and developing properly, the remaining eggs should hatch later this week. The best guess is Friday (May 18) or Saturday (May 19).

Thanks to the new web camera, we have been able to constantly monitor activity within the nest box. Although this is their first time together, the adults have both been acting like very experienced birds. This is not surprising in the case of the female, Miracle, as this is her fifth, consecutive nesting season in Fargo. The male is more of a surprise, and also something of a mystery. Due to a partially faded band, his identity has not been established. We know nothing about his history or origin. If this is his first time, however, he is off to a strong start.

From a viewing standpoint, we trust the best is yet to come. Please consider supporting this effort by making a financial contribution. The costs associated with the internet link are significant and ongoing. Thank you.
