I caught a nest exchange and we have a banded male and female here. we know female is same as last yer and I am betting same male but will try for band numbers next
I put May3 on one picture but is todays :egg16: :egg16:

it is windy and cold at most of our Alberta sites. Some have had snow flurries etc, so they are sticking to eggs like glue

this is why I think it is same male. He loves to incubate., so they are very good at this. In a few days I should be able to watch this for a few hours to see if I can catch them

I've had this cam up all morning trying to catch a nest exchange. Finally a few minutes ago, it happened. As we all know, the female is banded; the male is unbanded, at least on his right leg.

and yet i have a picture of them both banded. Very confused. Maybe bands higher up. will go back and check when I can.
