Not a banner look, but just saw all four chicks in the upper part of the screen. Can't tell, but it looks like they're picking at some leftovers.

Seeing as how the kids are still staying mostly out of sight, I thought I could at least report on some of the migrating birds that have stopped in my backyard on their way further north. Since May 1, I've seen the following:

    - Rufous-sided Towhees (I think this bird has a new name but I can't recall what it is)
    - Rose-breasted Grosbeaks
    - Black-throated Blue Warblers

I'm still waiting to see the Indigo Buntings that usually appear in the second week of May. And of course, I've been enjoying my Catbirds that arrived about two weeks ago to spend the summer.

Tuned into the cam around 2:15. One chick was totally visible near the center of the back of the box. Another in the upper right corner, and one appeared from the lower right corner. While I was watching, adult feet could be seen on the edge of the box, and finally CJ popped in. Chicks got up hoping for food, but he didn't have any. Then Red Girl came in to check things out. She also had no food. Two chicks disappeared in the lower right corner of the screen, and another was still partly visible in the upper right corner. No clue where #4 was. The egg is now in the center of the back of the box. Looks pretty forlorn. And Ethel, Sue and I saw TONS of Indigo Buntings on a birding venture this morning. Quite a few Baltimore Orioles, too.

Here's another one. I was relieved to see the other one moving cause I was a bit concerned that he was that far away from the others! :egg16:

Great video, Reenie!

At last, a close-up view of all the chicks being fed by Red Girl. How wonderful!

Wonderful pictures and video. Just checked in, and it looks like they're all in the upper right corner of the screen view again. Actually it looks like they're all trying to be in the same place at once. Wonder what's so great about that corner?

Wow! Been away for the weekend and what a surprise to see how big and moving around the whole nest now. Great coverage for catch-up! Thanks to all concerned. Will be interesting to see why one stays alone at times.

Was just about to post that all four chicks were highly visible when I saw Ethel's picture. Went back over to the cam, but breakfast was over by then. Two different chicks were picking at leftovers. They have all settled in for a nap now, and all visible. Three at the front of the box, and one in the usual upper right screen view.

About five minutes ago Red Girl came in. She picked up a couple scraps, fed them to two nearby chicks, and then left. Two are right now in the front part of the box, and the other two are down in the lower right corner of the screen, one barely visible.

Thanks for the menu report, Greg. Cuckoo is the real thing this time, huh? Tuned into the cam around 7:35, and Red Girl was feeding all four chicks at the bottom part of the screen - yeah! At one point one chick was given a bite bigger than it could handle. Red Girl took it and wound up with a feather sideways across her beak. She proceeded to eat the feather. It appears that the chicks may all sack out in the lower left corner of the screen tonight.

Thanks Greg, and nice to see them all over the nest box. They are so cute. It amazes me that the egg stays intact with all the activity.
