Thanks for the food report Greg! Now I'm wondering what was being fed to the kids for their bedtime snack a while ago.

I'm also wondering if anyone else has noticed that at least one chick has yellow feet (see the chick on the right, below) while most - if not all - of the others have white feet. I think white is the predominant color for falcon chicks' feet, but I've seen other chicks in the past with yellow feet. It does make for an easy ID if only one chick in a nest has the yellow coloring.

When I logged on this morning, NO ONE was in view! Amazing how they get themselves tucked into that upper or lower corner. Especially with their size now.

Ethel, good observation!

Tuned into the cam a little before 9 this morning. Three chicks zonked out in the lower left corner of the screen, and the individualist is in the lower right corner. Couldn't see if it was "yellow foot" or not. Any word on banding, Kim?

At 12:45 pm EDT the parents were taking a break, CJ on the box ledge and Red Girl four ledges to the left. After a few minutes CJ slipped away. A few minutes after that Red Girl took off too, announcing her departure with ringing "Cack!"s. A warning to a couple of turkey vultures not to get any closer.

No word on banding and I'm not even sure if I'll find out about it this year or not...

That makes me sad Kim, that there is a chance you won't know. Maybe they don't want publicity. Great picture.

Carly - Thanks for the link to the GG (Green Girl) pictures. I loved the sequence of pictures of GG in the tree!

P.S. For those who might not know, Green Girl is Red Girl's sister. She's a mom too, nesting in Ohio at the Hilliard Road Bridge.

Kim - Cute picture from this morning.

So there's been no word on banding the chicks yet? I hope they don't wait until it's as late as last year, and I sure hope they inform you about when it will be.

Just watched a feeding. Looked pretty hectic, but all were fed well.

It won't be as late as last year. That was very unusual for that to happen.

That's cool about Red Girl's sister! Where is the Hilliard Road Bridge?

Loved that "follow the leader" picture. And Green Girl was born in 2009. She a year younger than Red Girl. For those of you reading this, I'll tell you that when Red Girl fledged, she wound up on the roof of the building you can see on the Harrisburg cam. That is Harrisburg University, and at the time it was still under construction. She wound up about where you can see part of that railing. In a bit she tried to get back to the nest ledge, didn't make it, circled around and landed clinging upside down to a net over there. We watched helplessly from the street.

Can see three sacked out chicks right now. One in the lower right corner of the screen, one in the center, and one in the upper right. Those tail feathers are really coming out, and the Peregrine facial pattern is starting to show, too.

Banding will happen tomorrow, probably starting around 12:30, maybe a little earlier. Glad to hear HBG kids are both healthy! :)
