Plus here are two pictures from a mid-afternoon snack that I managed to catch the end of. I don't know about the little chick off to the right . . . perhaps he/she was the first to get fed and just fell over from a full crop.

Glad to know that Red Girl's and CJ's chicks will be getting their jewelry today. Actually read that last night. Will be looking forward to hearing more later today. Must work until 1 today, and this will be the last day of my part time job.

We have FOUR healthy FEMALES!!! I was really hoping for males so they might fledge before I have to go out of town but oh well...

Sorry but I had no idea that he was going to band one of them live or I would have said something so everyone could watch! I will post pictures and video later!

If these girls take no more time in the nest than the two girls did last year, they will take their first flights in the last week of May. Hopefully this year's batch will stay off the ground better than last year's.

He was on his phone with the teacher of the class who had him on speakerphone so the class could hear the falcons and what he was saying! It was a very cool thing to do! :)
Like I said, I wish I'd known ahead of time though!

BTW, Red Girl is nowhere near as aggressive as the previous female! Although I think I remember another bander saying that they get more aggressive each banding.
