Currently, nobody visible anywhere. . Have cam up and recorder on. . but won't be back here until after 10 ..

Well, I missed the sub-adult male's visit to the nest box earlier. But I did catch Durand's recent visit. When she entered the nest, the eggs were in the configuration shown in the screen capture; when she left, the eggs were all lined up in a row. Go figure!

I hope we'll get to see more of the new male today, and I hope we'll be able to identify him soon.

9:35AM -Durand arrives, chups, then new boy arrives. Bowing chupping on ledge. Durand heads to box. He's on ledge.

It would be more helpful if he would come and stand in front of the ledge cam so that we could see his bands. .

9:39AM - Standoff again. She's in box. He's on ledge. They are bowing/chupping to each other.

I'm convinced now it was a male we saw yesterday, based on how this interactin is going and how the male looks on the ledge. He looks much darker at this distance. The SA, when we see him, is in the box and he always looks lighter to me.

He's calling/whining for her now. She responding with soft chups.

She's now bowing a little more in box, soft chups, pebble picking. He's watching her. She doing her intermittent chups.

She's standing to the right of eggs and pebble picking. Looking at the eggs a little. She's moving a little more to the right in the box. Eggs are now in a vertical straight row in front of her. She's now moving around a litlte more. Almost like she's moving to one side to make room for him to enter box with her.

He's calling for her again. She's been doing soft chups the entire time. Kepping a bowed position. She has moved back, so she's almost against the far right corner of box. He's sort of hunched over at the sholders, bowing on the ledge. He looks around a bit.

Durand is now pebble picking perimeter of box. He calls for her. She chups softly in response. She's keeing a more or less bowed position.

I think she's trying her hardest to get him in the box with her. She's turned her back on him while maintaining a bowed position. I think she's oved all over the box to give him room to enter. Being very submissive in my opinion.

He bows/whines for her.

9:52AM - still in standoff.

He's moving closer.. :cheer

9:53AM - he jumped onto the top of nest cam. Durand is still in box. At close left corner.

He's now sitting on top of cam (straight up). He's looking around a little.

Durand is still frozen in box. Almost like she's looking in cam - she's really looking at him.

9:56AM - he's softly wailing for her. She's holding frozen in her position.

This really is amazing.

I think she holds still so he doesn't get freaked out.

Carly - this is a lot like the Beauty & DotCa stand-offs.
