10:07AM - he's still on top of box. Looking down at her. She is now at the very front of box, soft chups. He whines for her.

This is hilarious .. she has her back to the door, he's on top of the box, periodically calling. . so, who's gonna make a move first .

Maybe he should go hunt for her. Have you see the shadows flying by every once in a while during this whole interaction?

LOL, Now he's moved to the back of the nest box.. D looked like she was gonna get on the eggs .. until she heard him move ..and now he has moved back up to the front

No. . I've missed the shadows .. there have been TV's in the past .. I would think if it were another falcon, we'd here kakking from somebody. .

Durand started kakking and took off. Nothing observed on the ledge cam.

yes .. that's what I'm calling her alarm call. .however, with Durand, it was also her "you'd better get up here, Chance" call .. she also seems to use it when she is really irritated. .

Ok... Just needed to check. When everyone talks about alarm calling, I think if Durand and her kaaking. But she uses it to call also. If I compare her to Beauty for example, Beauty whines/calls for her mate. Obviously each has their own style.

Would be interesting to find out, does Madame X kaak when calling?

The only time I would hear her using it to call Chance was when she wanted relief in the box. .Now, maybe she was doing the "boy who cried wolf" routine, because he would usually appear and she would leave the box and he would go into incubate. So, it could have been coincidence, but while the two were incubating regularly, she would start this kakking between 10:30 and 11:00 am every day. .then they would switch off .. Scout didn't use this tactic .. she would wail and call for Orville. .

I have seen Durand start kakking for no apparent reason .. she'll be in the box, not even looking out to the ledge and then just start kakking, never even looking out or going out to the ledge. .silly girl .. guess should could have heard something during these times ..the flip of that would be I would hear her kakking in the box and then she would tear outta the box and off the ledge immediately ..
