Great to see a grandson of Orville and Scout here, returning to the ancestral home. Now I will keep every finger and toe I have crossed so that he will stay here for many many years to come. :egg11:

What wonderful news that Spark is the new male at the Rhodes Tower! It's great to see him again; I watched him grow up last year. What a handsome sub-adult he is.

I don't know if anyone has answered the question about whether he would migrate. His parents, Boomer and SW, don't migrate. They can be seen around the nest all year. And Scout and Orville didn't migrate, so I think it is unlikely that Spark would have the urge to migrate. Wishing only good things for Spark and Durand.

551pm - Spark is in the box. I saw a bird sitting on ledge and thought it was Durand. Well, when it moved to the box, found out based on voice, it's Spark!

625pm Spark starts chupping. Can't see him due to shadow. Durand lands on ledge, next to ledge cam and is chupping.

Spark is on top of nest box. Could see it when Durand blocked sun when she was standing in front of cam.

He's just a talking to her!!

She's high pitch whining back to him.

Durand's whine sounds almost like a chicken. I'm expecting her to balk balk balk.

650PM Spark is now in the box, chupping. Durand is still making her intermittent whining.

6:53PM He just left box. Lots of chupping on both parts. Durand with her whining. Don't know if I've ever heard her do that before?

657pm - he just flew. After, I heard Durand give out one small calling/whistle/whine. If she's in the same place, she is just to the left of the ledge cam, out of view.

I'm watching too many things...

1110AM - Heard Durand chupping on ledge, then she went to box.

As I'm typing this, Spark just landed on ledge. Durand and Spark are chupping to each other.

I can't tell from this distance and may just be a shadow, but I think maybe he brought her a gift?

And it's a standoff in Colubmus! Both are holding their positions!

1110~S leaves next ledge and lands on nest ledge. . D still in box, echupping

And - do you think he has something for her? I keep seeing some feathers near him, and wondering if he's got a gift for her? Maybe it's just his feather ruffling?
