You can see by this feeding that there are almost as big as Lil Dad. Other than color its going to be hard to identify who's who at a distance.

After reading your post lyn, I agree wholeheartly with you. I too cannot watch animal programs. This Falcon watching takes GUTS! It is not for the faint of heart, but here I am doing it for all the gifts it gives and the promise of "new" life. I cannot think of anything else when given time to think. We all are still "raw" from two years ago, and in addition to that, we have let our hearts be taken in by all that we see here. How can we not love these Creatures of the Skies? We are living day to day right with them.

Reenie, I hope you can get some rest. I say that knowing all to well what you will do. This grief is so tough. Lil Dad is suffering too. You can tell by his actions. But he is doing a super job.
I will be thinking of you all today, walking the streets and wishing I was there to help. I will be coming up soon, when fledging week comes about. I'll keep you in my prayers today that you find her, anyway at all.

My heart is too full to say much; I thought I didn't have that many tears left in me, but they just keep coming. As Jane said, we will do one more search today in hopes of finding her. Beyond that, my focus is shifting to one very real thing I CAN do for New Girl. I will do whatever it takes to get her two boys safely launched and flying well. Falcon watch will begin on Thursday. I am praying that they will show no signs of trich and will be as good little flyers as their brother from last year.

I guess they can't be too hungry as they aren't bothering Lil Dad too much while he eats.

Sue, your Avatar from Froona is beautiful and says it all in one sentence. I'm crying again. Got to stop this before work.

8:18 No sign of either of the boys at this time, They could be behind the yellow column, or scrape. Lil dad is on the Cam where N.G. use to sit, so that makes me feel as though the boys are at that end with him. He is depressed, and his head says it all hanging. Just like ours! Wishing all who are going out on the Search Party good luck today. God I wish I lived closer so I could be of some assistance.

Thanks for the good wishes, Cricket. I could just sit here and cry, but that's not going to do any good. When I looked at the cam a few moments ago, Lil Dad was on the cam, and the boys sacked out in the shade from the orange post.

I guess that's L'il Dad on the stick right now, taking in some sunshine. I will be with the "search committee" in spirit today - be hopeful, but be strong! No telling how far away she may have gone. It was like she said "goodby" before she flew away the other day.

Lil Dad on the stick. One sacked out chick in the shade of the orange pole, other one over in front of the scrape. Earlier that one had been behind the shield. Normangelo, your comment has really teared me up.

Oh how hard this is. We can tell that Little Dad feels the loss. Let's hope his work raising Red and Blue will keep him busy.

As for us, we have each other to share this time, and do what we need to do: grieve, try to accept the ways of nature, and watch what unfolds before us day to day, learning and helping as we can.

Boy, do I ever want to see a successful fledge this year!!!
