Did you all see that egg in front of Mom moving? I thought at first that Mom was moving it, then maybe the baby was moving it, but I think it was actually moving itself! :egg14:

Yeah, when she was up a bit I wondered if I saw more than one chick back there...

It also sounded like 2 different chicks

I saw her roll an egg under her and it looked good and solid but I don't know now that is a big pile of white under her

That is exactly what I thought.
Maybe it just seems big because the camera is so closeup.

I'm not sure that she knows what she's doing either.

OMG, I think she's pecking it. I've seen her do that a couple of times now. Does something seem wrong with that chick? Well it is newly hatched, maybe not.

The only thing I can think about this is that maybe there are a few little pieces of shell in its feathers & she picking those off of it. :egg16:

Mom is quite a clutz--she stepped on the baby in the process of leaving...

Wish they would bring food--baby has been opening its mouth wide, but I haven't seen a feeding yet. It doesn't have to be fed yet, but usually parents do feed them right away unless they're waiting for another hatch.
