I've been watching her feed for a little bit. At first, one was getting all the bites (as usual when they're this age), & the other one was either lying down or he'd stand up & fall over just as she was about to give him a bite. He has gotten most of the second half of the food so I don't think either one wasn't fed enough! :egg5:

Edit: Said second baby has now fallen over from being full! :egg 19:

OK, now they're both full, so I think we can relax about her feeding skills. She does seem to eat a good bit of the prey, but I think she's eating the tough, stringy stuff that they would have trouble with.

Radisson eats her share also. andyou may be right. It might be the stringy stuff. I saw lots if that in the video.

that is what I say , when I eat more than my share. Just wantde to save everyone from the bad parts :egg11: :egg11:

I just watched her feed them too, glad she is getting better at it. :egg 19: I think at earlier feeds she was standing too far away from them and she fell forward once that I saw. :egg13:

I saw her fall also, I think in the video. If the truth be known, I am glad my first born survived. trial and error :egg13: :egg13:

Good thing I had my mother standing by, we stayed at their house for several months at that time, waiting for a house of our own. :teehee:

The falling over part we've seen experienced moms do too. I know among others I've seen fall over are Harrisburg Mom, NG, S2 and Scout. They seem to just get a bit off balance but in all cases, they put out their wings to keep from falling on their chicks! :girlluv:

They don't seem to be paying much attention to that third egg, so I doubt that it will hatch, which is just as well (as long as there isn't a developing chick in there). 2 is plenty for new parents to deal with. :egg7:

I agree that we humans go through trial & error as new parents as well! My mother was a long ways away from me, but my landlady was a registered nurse & she helped me a lot the first few months!
:egg13:
