So this is what is happening. Miss Edmonton laid 5 eggs, but we had some guys up on roof that were not supposed to be there and they were there a long time in cold weather. When Gord drove by and saw this he went up. Not a happy camper. He left and went back to get dummy eggs and pull hers to be incubated. When he came back they had gone back up, so there will be regulations set up. They knew , as I notified them, and no one was to go up , but when you have people at building that do not understand English too well.....

Well , not sure how many are viable, 2 for sure.

This is just horrible. 3 falcons gone because of this !!! Thank goodness gord came by and saw this. I certainly hope he read the riot act to them and that it won't occur again. Perhaps there needs to be more public awareness done to avoid this. Many people don't know about the peregrine nests.

Clinical

Peter and I paid a visit tonight to UNi and met up with Becky. As we were driving up, RAdisson was flying with a fresh catch, and The wind was pulling at her. She tried for Maz but had to abort and go to back of clinical science. She then got organized, and tried again and flew up to Maz and then straight into nest box. It was thrilling tog watch her power. sorry no pictures. this all happens when we are not organized yet. :egg13: :egg13:

Our man , Chase, was beside her and then he flew to jut of Clinical .He then flew off and tried to stoop something but missed. Went back to jut and then flew to back of College Plaza. I am really pleased with how he is doing. As Peter said tonight, if he makes it back here form migration, he is big enough to hold this site for a few years I am sure. And RAdisson is a power to be reckoned with. but we can never predict the unknown , as we well know. So we will enjoy each day as it comes. :egg17:

After feeding R flew over to Maz with leftover prey. still a big chunk. she must have stashed it, as she flew back to net box.

We went to our favorite coffee shop , where Peter kept an eye on box. Radisson was on stoop.
When we came out we saw R on front of box and Chase was on netting. that is how we left them.

Radisson is definitely spooked a bit about cam.

Accidentally erased pictures but male was on roof and then both in box with food, I think Grebe, and RAdisson feeding now

live streaming seems stuck again :tantrum2: :tantrum2:

only see one getting fed but has big crop. Assuming other 2 in left corner. One was out by lip of box this morning

this cam does move too much. the other one they had on roof was more stationary, but leaked

Great pics, Bev! Thank you for all your updates and pics. The events at the Weber nest don't sound good - I wish there was a way to prevent people from going anywhere near the birds during their breeding season.

Haven't seen much at the U of A nest today; in the middle of yet another thunderstorm here, and the Internet keeps going down.

the live cam is frozen in time and I have seen one feed. the adults are probably on Maz or a ledge.

Yes, more rain here also. I accidentally deleted my pictures I had.

We try hard to educate people and do have rules in place but some just do not care to follow them. After all, what is a falocn to them??? It is like banging your head against a wall. :furious: :furious:

Oh, Bev, all the animal welfare and environmental organizations I support or work with say the same thing; it takes years and years to educate people and to get their cooperation and/or support. I don't know how these organizations can stand it, the pain and the frustration, but they just keep trying, year after year after year. We do see evidence that people can change their attitudes, though; smokers did, for example.

Radisson is a tough love mom. she is great but no coddling. As soon s they can be left without covering, she is off them. she is always near and a great feeder and teacher. this bodes them well. When O/Y was here , he was the coddler. :egg17:

weber

Peter and I made a trip down in rain last night as Gord said he would be putting in a chick or 2 . Do not knwo if one or 2 so wanted to witness evidence of feed.

yes, male was on antennae when we got there. Then he flew up to box and sat in front of box. I think Miss Edmonton told him to go an d get supper. And he complied.

He soared around and then off . I just love watchmaking them soar and then dive.

After a bit , in he came with prey in his talons. Of course, we were watching and forgetting to take pictures.

Miss Edmonton came out and retrieved prey and flew off to W with it. Usually she feed kids first but she ate , so we were wondering if no kid or kids. Male flew to aerial and then to front of box and went in eventually.
Miss E then flew around with prey in her beak and landed on another letter. Ate a bit more and then transferred prey to talons and flew around and up to box. Yes, she is going to feed. In she went and out came male. So we have a young one or 2. I have a feeling one

Short slide show. We were far away as we did not want to spook male. He will get used to us again but after all interference we did not want to stress him.

it was windy

Thanks for the update on Weber along with the photos. It is amazing how the instincts kick in when there's a baby chick. :girlluv:

Clinical Sciences Building.
All cam angles are working, and the chicks are looking out the nestbox while the male also looks around at his domain from the wrung. These little guys are already showing such an interest in their surroundings.
