Does look like Niecey in front of the scrape by the stick.

Can anyone say if she is bigger than Her aunt was? She does look a tad more full figured than mom did but then my mind might be fading

edited! as soon as i posted this she has gone into the scrape

George, I doubt there's any way we could be sure of relative size. I'd love to see the 3 females together to get some idea of that, but then, I'm always wishing for the impossible!

He landed and went to the scrape, she followed and must have gone behind the scrap as she ended up on the shield and then hopped down in there to be with Lil' Dad. I was like, get out of the way Lil' Dad, you don't want her landing on you. :egg11:

Anyway, he left and she is on the stick.

If any of our locals are online, how's the heat down there?? It's hot here, but not as humid as I expected, and there's a breeze, so it's far more bearable than I thought it would be. Hope it's the same for you down there!

It's HOT here, Susie. 92 degrees. There is a breeze, though. Tomorrow sounds better, fortunately.

Thanks, Jane. Hang in there! I'm so glad that the heat's not supposed to last too much longer! And it's hard to imagine but the highs next week are only in the low 70s! Right now that sounds mighty nice.

You can tell by the picture how big she is. She evens ducked down so we could see all of her. :egg6: :egg6:

Ljames, it looks like Lil Dad is ducking down too in your capture of him so that we can see all of him (not to be outdone by Niecy)! :egg6:

Edit: On the subject of size, those of you who watched this cam a couple of years ago may remember Joanne saying that in order for her to identify whether it was Mom or Lil Dad on the stick, she counted the number of windows on the building to the left & where their head was in relation to those windows. She said Mom's head was even with the 6th window above the stick. I was looking at Reenie's pic of Niecy, & her head comes to the 7th window above the stick & if the higher windows were smaller like the bottom ones, her head would come to the 8th window! :egg14:

WELL IT IS HARD TO TELL THEM APART SOMETIMES BECAUSE WE GET USED TO ONE VIEW AND THEN IT CHANGES AND CHANGES THE PERSPECTIVE OF EVERYTHING, LOL!

Just a quick post here.Nancy I do remember Joanne and the windows. God rest her soul. In fact I was trying to do that the other day.
And Reenie you are so right.
Everyone hold down the Fort, I'll be away until Monday evening. Hope all is well here.

I was going to add that the zoom of the camera might also change the perspective of size so it's kind of hard to compare.

Reenie, I enjoyed the pictures. The second one reminds me of Mom and how she used to look directly in at you when you were taking her picture!

I am still "under the weather" as they say, but got online for a bit. I am very encouraged to hear of a juvie sighting at the north end of Harrisburg. I had hoped they would turn up near Wildwood. Regarding the relative sizes of Lil Ear's three ladies, when New Girl arrived we all commented on how large she was compared to Mom. Now I am certain that Niecey is significantly larger than New Girl. So, I would speculate that she is surely larger than Mom was. It seems like they are growing them bigger these days. Or there is so much competition for territories that mostly the largest and strongest succeed. Red Girl was the largest of her hatch year. So was Green Girl. So were Niecey and Durand, just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are also exceptions, and I definitely hope that one day we hear from several of the smallish males we've been turning out from here the last few years. But there does seem to be a trend toward bigger.

I hope the heat wave is over tomorrow; would love to investigate Wildwood a bit.

I did investigate Wildwood for a short while this morning, Sue and others. Came up empty other than seeing a quartet of fuzzy yellow Wood Ducklings under the guard of their mother. Also checked the area around I-81. Nothing. Of course you have to be at the right place at the right time. Hope you soon feel better, Sue.
