Finally... she just arrived back with food.

Carly, thanks for the pics of Dotca & the baby. & I am really impressed with how well Dotca is doing--first with the eggs, now feeding & brooding the chick. There are many-time fathers out there who don't do as well as he's already doing! :egg5:

Now that he has a taste of fatherhood, he will probably be one of those tiercels who begs for time with the kids & also begs to feed them!

Oh thank goodness--Beauty is back, with food! She's now feeding baby. :egg 19:

She can't figure out why Baby is not eating... Daddy already took care of it Mom....

Oh! I am so glad to read that Beauty returned after a long absence. Maybe her way of trying to teach Dotca the intense responsibility. Regardless, it is great to retire for the evening with everything in place here. :girlluv:

Wonderful pictures this morning! I hope now that its cooled down, they will get this baby on a good feeding schedule. At other nests, chicks this age are fed every couple of hours, so I would like to see this one fed like that. :egg 19:

I wonder if Beauty is trying to keep this one smaller so that there won't be so much difference in size if the other egg hatches (which I'm doubting at this point).

Maybe he doesn't understand yet that the baby needs to eat much more often than adults?

Washing dogs today. Just took a break. DC just came in with food delivery. B took from DC, flew off and must have made a big circle because she's back with food in box now, feeding Baby.
