SAW LIL DAD FLY OVER TO THE LEDGE WHILE OUTSIDE, I SEE THEY ARE BOTH BONDING IN THE SCRAPE STILL :-)

AND LIL DAD JUST FLEW OFF.

one is atop the shield the other on the stick cooling off in the rain a 430 :girlhot:

Whoever is at the stick was down at the point playing in the rain like a juvie awhile ago. Holding the wings up, flapping a little and fluffing out all of their feathers! Flew up to the cam, then back down and ran down to the stick.

NOBODY IS THERE ON THE LEDGE NOW THAT I CAN SEE.

Agreed about the great pictures, Terka. Wish I had been watching, but the thunder was rumbling pretty good at my place, and it's been raining here for a while. Not sure which falcon is on the cam right now.

6:12 No sign of either one on the ledge at this time. Guess all the rain will be coming here next! Glad to see it's washed off the ledge some. I do hope Niecey is meticulous about her New home, and is a good Housekeeper.

Niecey just flew in and E-chupping at the scrape.

Since the rain passed, I decided to take a spin downtown as planned. Got down there around 7:40. Lil Dad was on the shield, and Niecey was on the top of the building to the right of the three large windows along Market Street. She eventually flew over to the glass enclosure above the nest ledge. Somewhere around 8:25, Lil Dad took off behind 333 and Niecey followed him. I lost track of him, but she circled over my head and returned to sit on the roof right above the glass enclosure. Noticed that she's missing at least one of her central tail feathers. Finally found Lil Dad on the stick, so he must have been in the scrape as Faith noticed. Around 8:50 they both took off toward 333, but went to the opposite side, and there's no way I'm about to go over there to take a look at that hour of the night. Forgot to mention there was a Bluejay head on the sidewalk in front of the Carson Building, and also saw three Grackles sitting on the steeple, but not way up at the top.

Thanks for your late in the day visit Jane and the good information. I am always happy to hear that a bluejay, and not something more exotic, was dinner fare.

Good report Jane! I am glad you are very cautious down there at that hour, even though it is still kind of light. Last night I noticed Niecey on the stick and a feather was sticking down from her tail about an inch. (as far as it shows on the cam) It was right along the bottom edge of the tail. I thought that it looked odd. Maybe that was the feather that came out, that you saw. Interesting!

Someone on the shield now, preening. I'm afraid to say it is Niecey. but looks like it could be. I go by the tail length.

Whoever it is is hot already with the wings out. The humidity is so thick you can cut it with a knife! We had no rain in DE yesterday or last night. I see the ledge is still wet.

Well I got my answer, it was Lil Dad as he is on the Cam now.

Niecey just arrived and is in the scrape talking to Dad on the Cam. I have to go to work, so all is well here.

3:17 It appears we have Niecey on the cam at the Point end.
