Thanks SGB for the blog update. The last picture says it all referencing glass buildings and the falcons. For a brief moment I had to look again to see which was real and which was reflection.
The chicks look so grown up in these pictures comparing to the ones we get from the cam. A big WOW. Way to go mom and dad!

so sorry to hear about the Burnsville baby. :girlsad3:

I was just coming to post the Boise link but I see SGB did so already. They sure are cute watching the parade. :girlyes:

If I remember correctly there is a cute little cafe right across the street with outside tables and umbrellas, perfect for falcon watching.

I watched the nest a bit on the 4th and they were in view much of the time. A couple of shots. Many times, two would be there and the 3rd would run by behind them on the ledge, it was too funny. Sorry, I didn't post sooner. The 4th

Boise. . I finally found the IBeam cam. . probably one of the kids. If you go on around that right corner, you'll get to the nest box. .

Boonshoft~

Update July 9, 2012 - Apache and Torpedo have not been visible very often on the FalconCam, so it has been tough to track them. Fledging, the process of young birds learning to fly, usually takes place at about six weeks of age and the chicks should have started fledging around July 4, at the earliest. Observations at the Liberty Tower indicate that Torpedo is still on the roof and fine, but we do not know where Apache is. No reports of any problems or injuries have come in, so we believe he is OK. With the extreme heat, there will be very little action from the birds. In this photo you can catch a glimpse of one of the birds walking around outside the nest box on the Liberty Tower:

Boise had 2 fledged now this is from today
We have fledglings! Two of the young birds tested their wings between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. this morning and are doing well. The third chick could go anytime, too, but on its own schedule. Often, the last chick to go is a female, which develops more slowly because of her larger size.

It was certainly a nice morning for fledging. The weather is noticeably cooler and the smoke hanging over the city from nearby wildfires is not as thick as it has been the last few days.

Fish and Game’s fledge-watch team leader, Anna Ravegum Taaffe, reports that the two fledglings are perched safely on tall buildings downtown and that the adult male is nearby. Anna says the fledgings appear to be strong flyers, with one of them perched on top of a building a block away that is higher than the nest box. Fledge-watchers are prepared to rescue the fledglings if they land in an unsafe location.

Our thanks:

Go left. It is the white building in the distance behind the Wells Fargo Building. .
