Wonderful pictures posted on here. Am hoping that the falcons are in the area somewhere around 10:00 on Monday morning.

Thanks for the report, Greg. Just checked the cam, and nobody in sight. The two impressions up there now look like they're both being worked on.

Greg - Thanks for the food report.

Jane - I hope you're able to see the falcons tomorrow morning.

I caught a falcon - Red Girl, I think - in the nest box this morning and again this afternoon.

SOMEONE'S BEEN IN THE NEST BOX FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW. ALL OVER THE PLACE. NOT SURE WHO IT IS.

IT'S BEEN OVER 1/2 HOUR NOW. I'M THINKING IT'S CJ.

Reenie - I think you're right that it's CJ in the nest box. And I'm worried that he's barely moving.

I first saw him here, he was motionless for a long time.

Image

And now he's here, motionless, for the last 17 minutes.

I sure hope he's not injured or sick with something like West Nile virus.

I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANY NEED FOR CONCERN. I THINK HE'S RESTING. HE WAS ALL OVER THE BOX AND AS SOON AS I CAN, I WILL POST A VIDEO OF THE SCREEN CAPTURES. LIL DAD SITS IN OUR SCRAPE FOR LONG PERIODS TOO. I THINK HE'S FINE :-) HOPING JANE SEES THEM BOTH WHEN SHE STOPS BY THIS MORNING :-)

Thanks Reenie. I'm glad to hear that Lil' Dad does the same thing . . . I'll stop worrying now.

WHEN I TALKED TO JANE THIS MORNING, SHE SAID RG KEPT LOOKING UP AND SHE WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT RG WAS LOOKING AT. WELL IT TURNS OUT THAT AFTER HANGING UP, JANE SAW WHAT RG WAS LOOKING AT! IT WAS A KETTLE OF BROAD WINGED HAWKS! JANE SAID AT LEAST 50 OR MORE, WOW! BET THAT WAS REALLY COOL. I GUESS RG WASN'T GOING TO TANGLE WITH ALL THOSE :-)

WOW! So glad Jane got to see both and some neat action too. My son saw an Eagle flying not to far from the Shop yesterday. Hope they sit across the highway along the river like last year.

Quick checking in here from Cape May. Red Girl and CJ are the ONLY Peregrines we've seen thus far down here. That kettle of Broad-wings was so cool. Red Girl was really eyeballing them! I wish all of you reading this could see the Monarchs passing through here. It is so awesome.

A "kettle" of broad-winged hawks. That's a new term for me. Always learning something here.

Great to hear from you, Jane, with your eyeball reports.

Ditto from me too SusanE. Always learning and loving it! My Son seeing the Eagles around the area of the Shop again. When the leaves fall we may see them fishing on the DE. River. Such wonderful things to look forward to. Balances all the bad.

Good catch Beth! Jane , I bet the Monarchs are beautiful in their numbers. We read about them in our paper.
