About 5 minutes after this "S" did a bit of alarm calling

Well, I was wrong about the residents migrating by now. Or maybe she did but he didn't. Interesting that they were bonding. She had a lot of spots on her chest & we have usually found that the younger ones have those. This year's resident female had those, but she wasn't banded. Hmmmm...

That IS what I consider an alarm call, Kitten. Whenever the Harrisburg falcons do that, we know something has them upset. It could be something as simple as hawks or vultures flying thru the area. Funny thing is, our kids heard their parents alarm-calling enough this year that they started doing it when they were hungry! It certainly got the parents' attention! :teehee:

If Brenda could identify this falcon as being from North Dakota, I wonder if she was able to read the bands.

It's hard to tell from the video. Here is one pic from it:

Image

If this band is black/red, I'm not definitely seeing a black part of the band, but quite a bit of red. Perhaps that is an artifact of the imaging system, or perhaps this might be a red band; the bird would then be from a hack site.

Bands look B/R to me. Probably just passing through. It is disconcerting, though, to see the resident male readily accepting a new mate.

A few minutes ago. .

I think this is Sawatzke ( or at least male) based on the high pitched squeak ..Banded female (?) lands for a nanosecond. .

She must have looped around because I saw him tracking her. She flew in below the box, outta cam view, and up to the left of the box. Video was too horrible to post. . I'm not sure if she landed behind the box or just kept going. .

Well I have read a lot of times that this is a very well located nest right on the river and in the migration path
makes me wonder if we are going to keep seeing different pairs here now mom & dad were there for 3 years then Dot & unbanded male then "S" & unbanded female WOW prime real estate

The one SGB recorded at 5:41 is there now. Had a good opportunity to compare features by running SGB's recording next to the cam display & its the same one. Unfortunately, I can't tell whether or not there are bands.
