Wow Indeed, Beth, what a great catch you had on Thursday!!

Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures - I had a great visitor this past week - my daughter came up from Atlanta to visit and help us celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary! So thanks again for the great pictues and videos - I love seeing the lovely pair together!!

I have the Columbus Dispatch delivered every Sunday but hardly ever have time to actually read it. I picked it up finally and found an article about the Whittier Peninsula. You can see the downtown area from the peninsula - with binoculars you can see the Rhodes tower. It was a great article with lots of great information about the history of the area and all the wildlife that lives there and migrates through there. As I read I came upon this paragraph - The wetlands hosted three species of turtles, an extroverted muskrat and more than a dozen species of dragonflies. The screams of a red-tailed hawk drew our eyes skyward - a pair of peregrine falcons had bushwhacked it and the raptors were dog fighting overhead. Especially apropos are the dozens of great egrets currently hanging around the adjacent riverbanks. Hmmm I wonder who those peregrine falcons could have been - perhaps Durand and Spark? - ROFL So our pair got themselves in the newspaper!!!

falcons are always after the hawks. those 2 seem to be a team.

Good morning everyone!! I opened the cam this morning and heard chirping, right in front of the cam was one of the falcons - I blinked and it was gone - I believe that it flew into the nest and there, both Durand and Spark were renewing their bond with each other -I missed seeing them together because I was too slow - then Durand flew out of the box and off the ledge leaving Spark. He was there for a minute or so and then he came out on the ledge sat for a minute and flew off - I knew it was him because he did not drop off - lol!!
