I would think he'd go home to Beauty too and we'd see him on cam if it was him back so soon. Even though things started bad between them, he was quite bonded with her when he left/vanished. I've got the cam up just in case though.

BST may just be on alert if there are other falcons around. If DC does come back, it will be interesting to see if he does challenge BST - Pigott has technically spent more time with the new guy now than she ever did with DC - after Orion was born, he barely spent any time with Pigott so she might decide he'd be a better mate for her offspring. I'd personally rather see DC with Beauty especially now that Pigott has her own mate but of course nature works in different ways to how us humans think.

Sadly, BST hasn't been seen since early evening on Valentine's Day, where he was seen in his usual roosting spot with Pigott. Strange that he spends 3 months with her then takes off.

MAK and I were texting today and wondering if maybe that was the case. We'll see in the next couple days if he shows up but if he's moved on or whatever, he'll be missed. He was quite a cutie!

I saw that Kris, was just hoping it was a timing issue and the girls had missed seeing him. I agree he was cute and he'd be a good mate for Pigott. I say give it another day or two, I sometimes don't see O'connor for 2 or 3 days and have no idea where she's hiding! I hope where ever he is, he's safe even if he does have another home :girlyes:

I hope BST is safe too! Watchers will be out again tomorrow to see if he shows up and observe whatever else is going on. Wonder who the tiercel was that Pigott was echupping and flying with today? Hmmm..

What a web we they weave

In a perfect world DC would come back and nest with Beauty and P would have this BST.

There is a really big unbanded female hanging out North of Beauty's territory, she's not at KP but on a building nearby so the girls have been keeping a really sharp eye on things in case she makes a play for Beauty's territory.

Thanks for the photo Ferenz, happy to Beauty safe again :loveheart2:

:hi: Just wanted to clarify a couple things so you guys know the situation here in Rochester. We haven't confirmed yet that the PEFA seen at the Lake Tower (LT) apartment is banded or not and in my opinion she is not any bigger than Beauty. Obviously if they were seen side by side(which I hope never happens) we could tell better the size difference if any.

The distance from the Broad St. Bridge (BSB) and Times Square building to LT is 1.5 miles (2.4 km)
BSB to Kodak Park (Power plant where Unity hung out) is 6 miles (9.7 km)
BSB to the Brighton Site (BS) is 2.5 miles (4 km)

MAK - always appreciate your updates & dedication to these falcons. Hoping you guys see DC soon and your season can start.

So glad you are there to watch over Beauty, Pigott and whoever else decides to winter, or take up residence in Rochester!

:snowflake6i: :snowflake8: :thankyou

Thanks for your clarification on this "visiting" female, MAK. I sure hope she's just passing thru on her way home & Rochester has a peaceful nesting season.

As far as BST, a year ago I wouldn't have thought that he may have just been visiting Rochester & would then return home after a couple of months; however, from what we've seen at other nest sites, both males & females will do that, so hopefully that's what happened & he isn't injured.

:sigh

So much can happen in such a short amount of time. It seems the Rochester area has more than its share of comings and goings...or maybe its because you guys have such an amazing Falcon squad and we hear about it all...

Thanks so much for the updates!!!

I get so confused reading the reports, with so many sightings at different places. KP LT etc.

I wonder why Beauty has been spending so much time in Mariah's old nesting ground.

I think of Mariah every season. How could we not
