Not sure what they are doing this morning.

The only other thing I can think of is, sometimes during the season, the students "run" the cams. Maybe they don't realize we want to see egg action, not a falcon perched on 201 Mission.

:gaaaaah:

Good point...it just seems to me that during this time period, if you're gonna leave the cam unmanned, you park it on the scrape....unless they think something else is going on and they are looking for that....who knows...

Well, I must say, all of this is interesting~I guess... :girlcrazy: maybe Lil is just gonna pull a "Scout"....remember? 7 days between egg #1 and egg #2..

Sure wish these two were banded...

That's the thing with the birds out here... to my knowledge, many of them are not banded at sites that have cams or are watched! For all the banding Glenn S does each year, you'd think there would be many more banded birds coming into the territories, and there just aren't. I'm sure there are many more sightings each year by watchers that are not reported publiclly, but are kept private to protect nest locations, so maybe I'm completely wrong.

Original SF falcons, George was banded at SCPBRG and Gracie apparently had a silver Fish & Wildlife Band, but no VID (http://www2.ucsc.edu/scpbrg/nestcamSFabout.htm).

Dan & his mates are/were unbanded (think his first mate was Carmen?). Clara's mates, except for Carlos, were/are unbanded. The other "pair" in SF 6 blocks aware are unbanded. The female they call "Taylor" in San Jose who was a buddy with Fernando is unbanded. Hiko's mates (Haya/Tremaine) are unbanded. I believe there is a pair in Hayward that are unbanded.

I know I was watching SJ one year and Clara was on the parapet in position and the camera zoomed away toward the ledge. It quickly zoomed back to the parapet just in time to see EC flying away. I was like, now who doesn't know the signs that a canoodle is going to take place??

I think Lil is back on the ledge again.

Just don't get what's going on. Either she's not ready with #2, or maybe she did "drop" it somewhere else - as in really dropped it/broken.

It's a nice day today (upper 50's - low 60's depending on neighborhood) in San Francisco. We are supposed to get rain again on Tuesday - thank goodness because it's been VERY dry here recently. Maybe she just needs a break?

Thanks for the info, mwplay..

Well, Lil left the ledge about 10 minutes ago...of course, we're still staring at an empty ledge... :teehee:

She did a lot of preening and stretching...that was about it..

Something must be going on across the street again. If you look now, the door is opened to the roof on 201 Mission.

A bird is on the ledge, don't know who - probabaly Lil.

Well, this cam operator is making me nuts...now they are panning everywhere but the scrape...maybe they are just playing, not thinking anybody is watching...

OH..and look...somebody is in the scrape...wonder who and for how long!!!

well, what mwplay said I have been thinking. If she was egg bound she may have just dropped it while flying around.
but we will never know

I wonder why that door is open.

Man, when I see that , I start phoning the care takers of the buildings. I am a ppain

Hopefully all is well.

Cannot watch right now but will later this afternoon. Hopefully it will not be dark.

Maybe the first egg was a fluke and really she is not late???

I'm convinced it must be a new driver. This happens every year when someone new takes cam control. And, their job is to monitor I think prey deliveries/nest exchanges, so when they are driving we may not get the "zooming/views" we cam watchers would like.

Normally they send out an email just letting all the cam watchers know - (normally more communication comes from the San Jose forum) but maybe they didn't do it this year.

She does not look as tired so I also and betting she dropped the last egg out and about...It could have been a double yolk and bigger than normal...who knows...

But she looks well in those last images...

Interesting cam operations... :teehee:

I am glad you are all posting pictures because the picture I took of bird on ledge looked like a band. I am sure it was just the way, cam hit the light

Welcome to my world. :teehee:

When they are zooming in catching all those precious moments, you just want to hug them, but when, say, a juvie is about to fledge and the camera is pointing toward the MOON you want to kick them. :snowflake3:

Just kidding. I really appreciate that somebody is willing to do this.
