Judit Kanász-Nagy posted to BCAW Facebook page a link to a cam in Hildesheim Germany at the St. Andrew's Church.
From what I can tell, this is the second year. Thanks Judit!

The Esslingen Falcons had not been seen all winter, which was very unusual. But today I read that they were heard and seen. And it was assumed the scrape was made by one of them.
But now it seems like this duck (?) is responsible. :girlcrazy:
(Would make a great meal for the PeFa's ) :teehee:

Karlsruhe, I think this is the male and a female was nearby, flying round the back of the tower at one time. Couldn't get a picture of that moment

I did see the picture of the duck looking very cozy and I also thought what a nice meal it would make...

Bocholt: Watertower peregrine falcon's nest occupied by Eagle Owl

Ernst Klöcker from NABU-Bocholt sent me that photo collage (Bella & Guest).
He got the snapshot by an infra red camera he installed in the box...

The web cam will be online in at least 1-2 weeks. Let's see wheather Amadeus & Bella will regain
their old nest because the substitute nest box on Liebfrauenkirche is closed.

Thanks Ferenz for the Bocholt news...
I am not sure they can have the nest back for this year if the owl has eggs.
Remember the GHO's that have moved into the Osprey nests
-the "O" have to find a new home. They will not mess with the owls.

Thanks for the news, Ferenz..Nope...I'm afraid the Falcons will not regain the box, especially if the owl has eggs...This happened for several years at one of the WE nests. Gosh where are Amadeus & Bella gonna go now!!!

Ernst mailed me that they intend either to expel the eagle owl by installing a roost at the nest box entrance which has an opening, that allows only the falcons through, or to reopen the nest box at Liebfrauenkirche. The decision will be made this weekend.

Thanks Ferenz for the update. I was so hoping that they were going to do something to help Amadeus and Bella. Those mean owls. :snowflake3:
