From SF Yahoo group.
Mary Malec responded to question regarding the status of Dan at 2:44pm:

It was Dan in the video and Lil on the scrape in message 12921. I got a report from Ann and Alexea that they saw two birds downtown in the area of the scape. One went in and I had Dan coming into the nest box at the time they saw one smaller bird going in and had one larger bird in sight.

Something is happening with pressure from at or near the bridge and people seeing altercations on two different days. Both birds seem twitchy. Dan is always twitchy on the nest while Lil is usually a rock-solid presence.

Keep watching, especially if you are downtown and can see from the outside.

Message 12921 reads as follows and refers back to the video link I posted earlier today:

It looks like Lil is on the scrape. She is a bit twitchier than the usual Lil
battleship pose.

Keep a close eye out for a few days. There may be some pressure on them coming
from the east.

having lunch at Epic and saw a prolonged interaction take place - lots of
stooping, and a big chase towards Treasure Island and beyond where the two birds
disappeared into a fold in the sky. I could not keep a good watch as I had to
pay attention to my lunch guest. I did not see a bird return.

Any assistance keeping an eye on the goings on in the scrape, or on the ground
downtown would be helpful.

I get the impression that both birds are okay, but will have to wait until a report comes from boots. Hopefully tonight

Thank you to everyone who watched today, posted pictures and tried to help ID who was on and who was off. I have been away from the cam for a bit this afternoon, but it seems that whoever is on the eggs now doesn't seem so anxious

:thanku

Well I am hoping they are O.k.
Hopefully all learn their territories. It can work , they just have to get used to other falcons

E o four sites are very clsoe and look at Toronto.about.

So...If I'm understanding that report correctly, we probably have seen both birds on the eggs today?

SGB - I don't know. The response wasn't clear.. I assumed they were both sighted and am hoping we get some kind of update tonight. I wasn't sure if Mary was referring to just the video, or if she was giving us a report from boots?

I'm pretty sure Lil is on the eggs now (4:25PM PT) and in the pictures posted by Bev and Susan.

I do think Dan was on this morning (11AM timeframe).

After an email like that (which totally made me think one of the pair was missing and only Dan had been seen) I would have hoped there would have been some clarification or assurances on the status of Dan & Lil to the group.

4:37PM Lil is off eggs and appears to have left the scrape. Let's see who shows up. The camera has been panning, but I don't see anyone.

Eggs are uncovered.

4:40PM - someone just returned. Now, I think this is Dan on the eggs.

Dan is on the eggs now & I agree that the earlier shots were of Lil. Just pulled the cam back up so I don't know how long he's been there.

Lil was on until 4:37PM. Cam panned and no bird was in sight. Egg were uncovered for a few mintues. While cam was panning back to nest, Dan must have slipped in and he assumed duty at 4:40PM PT.

One other thing about Dan that helps me... he's got more yellow around the inside corner of his eyes. Lil has less and her eyes seem more "mean" looking.

Bev's post at 4:34PM has a good shot of Lil and the "mean" eyes.

Thanks mwplay....I agree that this is Dan...for the very simple reason is just because this falcon is just so darn cute...AND there are no Cady wingtips sticking up in the air...

5:06PM PT - Dan is talking up a storm. Maybe Lil is on ledge, but no moving the cam. Hoping she will come in view & we can see 2!
