I think its extremely hard to identify these birds if they don't have bands or if they don't have some really different feature that makes them stand out from the rest....remember the hard time we had at Columbus several years ago? What a nightmare that was...

Hopefully, all these closeups will give them enough info to try and figure out/rule out who we are seeing on the eggs today...

the other thing I find somewhat odd is that we're only seeing one falcon...I don't know if that's the norm here...

Semi Off Topic/Sidenote:

Glenn just posted a quick tidbit regarding SFO on SF Yahoo forum:

As a post script, SFO chased a pigeon and made a circuit of a large field. He is not releasable in his current condition because while staying in the air, he looks a little funky and his tail seems to drag a bit. But I remind myself that he could not fly at all when picked up on the runway. There will be a link to the news story about him at the NBC Bay Area web site tomorrow. --glenn@scpbrg.org

Just home. this falcon has to be either LIl or Dan. I am going to just shoot myself in the foot here and say.
In my opinion from watching all I saw at my sites, through nest changes in mid season, to loosing a male with Miss Edmonton left with eggs, A male or Female will not just go in there and incubate.

I saw that feather in the video also and now that we see it again, could be from a fight , maybe. We knwo a male will eventually incubate. We have seen that at San Jose and I sw it at my site. WE also saw from de Mortel , and Pittsburgh the female did not incubate at all or incubated only after she lay her own eggs.

If one falocn is missing , the other is going to call for it, look for it and eat from stashes. But only for so long. Survival kicks in.

Radisson ,last year, would go off eggs for long periods of time to hunt as new male was not doing much at first. Then she had to try and get him in box. I watched from ground and cam.

So we are just going to have to wait an d see.
Look at the eyes and beak also. I am going to go back and look through yesterdays but I do believe we had 2 different falcons yesterday but I have not watched today

I think these two were pretty consistent with nest exchanges and we'd see both. Dan would bring in prey to inner ledge, or delivery on upper ledge, or the two would be on the rails across the street. When babies arrive, Dan would often come in and they would both feed at same time.

Dan is very skittish/sensitive to the cam. Lil could care less. So when they thought Dan was on the eggs during incubation duty, they would not zoom or pan. Since no one is sure who is who right now, I think they are doing what needs to be done to try and sort this out.

YOu , know there wre so many times we just ddi not know who it was on net . We knew it was lil when she was laying an egg LOL

the descriptions of these birds that they have really do not fit.

I f you remember someone questioned at beginning if it was really Lil or a new female

Information from ground:

Ann posted this in SF Yahoo:

Alexea is on the ground downtown. She has seen 'Mohawk' leave the nest, cakking at another falcon that Alexea sited on an adjacent building. It had flown from the Main Street side of PGE to the Spear St. Tower. Mohawk returned to the nest a few minutes later.

Most recently, Mohawk left the nest to meet two, perhaps three other falcons over Main and Mission - then, Mohawk back to nest and the others disappearing over the Embarcadero.

Mary M posted on SF Yahoo forum:

Yes. We are still trying to assess who is who. Clearly we have several (4 or 5 or 6 PEFA's in the area).

I assumed it was Lil, but sounds like that is not necessarily the case. Just another piece of the puzzle.

OMG - if they've got 5 other falcons in the air -
